How to Add a Friend?

I have looked for answers here but it does not work for me. I tried 'hovering' over the member sign under peeps avatar but I don't get any result. If I click on the word 'member,' it takes me to the top of that page ie: on page 12 of thread, clicking takes me to the top of page 12. Anyone help with this simple task??

Hover the mouse over the "member" in their profile and click on "add as friend", I've just added you to check if it works as I've never done it before

I have had a problem with the drop down menu disappearing as i try to click in it, but other than that, the above poster explained it pretty well.

Do you have to right click as I don't have a mouse with that facility? I am using my Apple mouse.

I don't have to click anything, just hover the mouse over "member" and I get several different options ("go to profile", "add as friend", "make rival" etc) to choose from, but I'm using a normal mouse with a laptop.

Other than that, I don't know what to advise.
