What an horrible comment to make to a son!

Never look to others (especially women) to validate who you are as a man.

It takes a man to validate a young man as a man and when this does not happen it can do soo much damage to a young man.

I remember when my first marriage was ending, i had lost my wife, house, kid, job (i left the army for her but rejoined later), and i wanted to die.

I was going to kill myself and phoned my dad one last timeto say goodbye in a round about way.

My dad saved my life.

He said, "son, you may not be a doctor or lawyer, but you are a good man, and no father could ask anymore from his son."

That saved me.

So from man to man, and from the posts i have read of yours, you have revealed your heart, and am a good man without doubt.

You validate yourself

Oh my, you seem like you are in need of some medication. Go to the doc and ask him or her to write your a prescription of everclear. That should put some hairs on your chest.

Oh yes, and god gave you fists for a reason. Next time some asshole says that to you, you sock him.

OP, do you go pee pee standing up or sitting down?

Also, pics would help so we can make our own determination...

I can go both ways.
I used to sit more because it was more silent.
But since I hear a lot of older men complaining about their prostates and moan about their lack of "pressure" I'm standing a lot more, and I'm thankful for every minute of it.
Ever heard hard-rock band Cinderella's "You don't know what you got till it's gone?"
In fact, watering the garden is easier standing up.

No. no - I have no dirty secrets.
I'm just a gay man.
I like men my own age, or even older.
I didn't even realize that my hand movements were THAT obvious.
It's just weird hearing from points in your life (that you experienced as in the closet and butch), and later you hear everybody thought you acted like a "girl"?

I get the weirdness from family and friends and how their perceptions may make you feel odd or uncomfortable.

So you are gay man. I'm a straight man.

Big deal!

Be the best man you can be, and by that I mean loving someone else, and caring about people and little critters.

Don't let anyone else influence how you feel you are, or how you value yourself.

If you are gay, then that's right for you.

Ok I will tell you were your going wrong.

Don't hold your hands like Mr burns
Don't take offence we people call you girlie, it just makes you look more feminine.
If your mom is bigging you up for being muscular, ohhhh dear
Don't ever join your parents for drinks...ever that's wack
Nobody tries to be nice to there parents and engaging in there conversation, that's how you end up feminine big time.
Don't use words like devastated chick get devastated guys get pissed off.
"I have a beard on my face" that's a good place for a beard to be...well done you.

You probably sound squeaky as well, so talk from your throat not your mouth. Just reading this I would assume your were a girl.

If you are gay just tell them it's probably what there are thinking anyway.

Wow - you certainly are!

I'm just wondering, are there any guidelines to move like a man.
I thought I had it, but perhaps I don't.
At a stage I actually thought, act like a butch lesbian and you'll look like a man.
I wonder if they get the same?

Dad, is that you?
It's past your bedtime already!

Thanks everybody - I was truly unhappy, but I almost feel like my old bitchy self again!
But still, it's quite shocking.

I suppose it's shocking because one thinks one has gone through all that years ago.
Maybe it is Alzheimer on their part.

Anyway, my last remarks on butch lesbians and so forth were obviously tongue-in-cheek.
Nobody is a stereotype, and guess it's that lack of placing me in any box which worries him.
It's been a lonely walk with HIV for 6 years.

I like the post though.
