Thanks angel! What a bizzaro article!

Wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth to it. I think these next two months, Sept and Oct are going to be wild, strap yourself in!

On overall the world now had a series of stress relieve quakes. (Except maybe in case of USA where the deep inland quakes might be causing stress elsewhere in the lines). New Zealand has been a little quiet on the bigger quakes, maybe now calming down.

I move my stack of chips for next big quake to Sumatra (Indonesia) - there activity has been very low for some time now. I also saw some reports in Indonesia and Singapore of strange clouds and lightning which could (or could not) indicate magnetic stress building up. When humans are scared even the shadow of a tree branch becomes a ghost . . .but ?

For the scare lovers: All of this might just be the lead-in to the main events due from October this year?

Don't get too excited...reported as a HOAX (silly me started a threat on ATS about it, after finding the link mentioned elsewhere!). Quickly binned to HOAX forum.

Seems we had the same trend of thoughts at the same time. I just took longer to write and edit!
Yes, I agree though I place timeframe at October/November due to solar, planetary and cosmic energy.

[mor

I cannot be as definative as you, you are 'on the spot' so to speak, but my gut instinct tells me the Indo/Papua/Philip area...and more likely a volcano rather than a EQ. But then I think you and I have already discussed this waaay back!

when watching,,think,,

ccw rotation
a N is 12 oclock,

centre

santorini area,greece,

now think/apply,, centrificall force,,

The plate seams, are lifting, at the weak points,,
The plates went from, mild, to Caution/Yellow ,, ALL AT ONCE,, on roes,,
usgs stepped in,,
the normally "low" undetected, plate seams,,worldwide,,
became detectable,,
so computer started too list them,, all around the world,,
usgs pulled it.
so it was ,,,,no longer available,,sorry there is no more,,,,
cause that makes it go away.
well we all know what happened after that.

i know that this is quake watch,
but i think it applies, regardless,,
was there God using todays,(last 10 years,,means today,, i know,, ),quakes
remember the , Fault line running through ,,u know where,,
"split into three part",,

its an actual fault line,,,,sooooo
"."In the past 72 hours Israeli cities (Not military camps, cities!) have been bombarded by over 84 rockets, killing a number of civilians and forcing one million Israelis into bomb shelters throughout southern Israel."

and whats supposed to happen ,
before u know what,
,"the greatest earthquake in the history,,
of the last ten years,,"
so ya id keep an eye, on the Santorini area.
and use it for a centre point.

Water does lubricate faults. But it's not the same thing as lubricating an engine with oil. The water travels through the fault and causes erosion. It's superheated because of the pressures and heat underground. It carves channels and removes material. It's kinda like glaciers.Glaciers have supercooled water that flows down through the glacier until it hits the crust. It then slices along the bottom like a large waterfall. The glacier is actually moving on a superthin-cooled layer of water. You can think of water in a fault in reserve. It moves through the fault and destabilzed the fault until enough resistence is removed. It technically doesn't slide along on the water making it more slippery,

Damn, I forget the name of this type of sand, that contains water, and they find it in California and scientists think this material lets those particalur quakes slide.

If you throw cold water on a rock you will crack it. A sudden rush of cold water that runs into a fault can cause it to crack. That's what can happen at Yellowstone. When water can breach one part of the geyers plumbing and migrates and hits hot rock, there is an hydrothermal exposion underground causing an earthquake. Or more likely a swarm.

Water does all kinds of weird and whacking things depending on its state.

noticed on SNZO that there was a bit of interference before the Peru quake, for about 15 hours, gradually got bigger and bigger.
something to keep an eye on in the future,* I was asleep

SNZO is a mess, you can't destinguish between Peru and Vanuatu.

Interesting SNZO didn't make the phase data on USGS or EMSC, despite the large signature on the graph above.looks like the arrival time was 18:00:00

Saying 7.0 for Peru...

Strong 7.0-quake hits northern Peru
English.news.cn 2011-08-25 05:36:39 FeedbackPrintRSS

LIMA, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- A powerful earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit northern Peru on Wednesday at 12:46:01 local time (17:46:01 GMT), the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) said.

According to preliminary information, there were no reports of any casualties in the quake, but some damages were seen, Peru's National Institute for Civil Defense said in a preliminary report.

The title says 6.9 but the article says 7.0 wonder if it was upgraded...

The quake struck about 354 miles north-northeast of the capital, Lima, at 1:46 p.m. New York time in Peru’s Amazon region, the U.S. Geological Service reported on its website. The temblor occurred at a depth of about 90 miles and was followed by a magnitude-5.3 temblor an hour later, the USGS said.
