Ted Turner urges global one-child policy to save planet

This definitely does make me quite angry to be honest. One child policy is immoral, infringes upon our liberties, and attacks our entire historical traditions. Having this one child policy would have severe implications sending shockwaves throughout the entire national and global economy destroying entire local regions, causing a rural flight, and leading to overcrowding and poverty.

Farmers throughout the world need at least three children just to maintain their crops, animals, and to assist with the work load. In undeveloped regions parents whom would be restricted to just one child would be severely restricted in their chances of having a healthy child survive until the age of eighteen.

Farming communities would effectively collapse leading to a global food shortage and a sharp rise in food prices. Add to that it will include a rural flight due to farmers not having the ability to maintain their farm and thus leave the countryside for urban areas leading to extreme population density, urban poverty, malnourishment, violent crime, plagues, mass death, and entire national collapses.

As for the liberty and morality side of the argument it is no place of any governing body to dictate to individuals the number of children the state permits them to have. Lest they forget they are Civil Servants and we are their employers. You would never have the audacity to dictate such offensive and invasive policies to your employer would you? Yet they believe they have that right regardless of public opinion.

How would they solve the issue with mother’s whom have more than one child? They would force abortion of that child which would seriously infringe upon a person’s moral ethics and upon their religious beliefs. This would effectively disband religion, liberty, personal morality, and individual sovereignty.

These are the results we receive from the age of enlightenment where we traded our national aristocracy which actually pledged loyalty to the nation, citizens, and culture in preference to an elite group of materialistically wealthy and ethically degraded class of globalist power craved individuals with absolutely no loyalty, integrity, or right to govern over man.

One day soon we shall die in the pool of our own despair of materialism, individualism, commercialism, and globalism.

Exactly. When Ted decides which 4 of his 5 children he's going to kill, and kills them, then I might be able to take what he says seriously.

What a complete moron. Maybe they should stop letting people like octomom go to clinics and come out with 8 kids, on top of the 6 she already couldn't take care of.

I believe we are not going to survive as a species on this planet with the ever increasing amount of people.
We need to get the technology that Lockheed Martin apparently possess's and put it to good use.
We need to step up to the next level civilization and expand our species to other planets.
A one child policy won't help, having one child isn't fair. I would say that 2 children is a good number. Therefore the kids have company. But either way, I think the proposition is ridiculous.

The only population control method compatible with liberty and human dignity is as follows:

1.) Stop rewarding people for having bastard children.
2.) Maintain laws against child neglect.
3.) Legalize contraception and abortion (I would encourage the former and discourage the latter on moral grounds, but they should both be available especially if (1) and (2) are implemented).

That's it. That's all you have to do to keep population under control.

I agree with this 100%! I support two boys with me and my girlfriend working at Wal-Mart with no help from the government other than tax refund time . Trust me I wish I could get some assistance money but when your honest the government will not give you money. Im an honest guy so when the state tells me to go # myself, they can just take the same. Its one of us studying at a time until the kids are in school, but one day we'll climb out of this bottom #hole and have a house. I dont want no more kids unless I had land.

Ted Turner should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell.
