Lets here it. Lay it on the line. What would be your platform if you needed to have one? What issues would you be for, against, or indifferent about?

I am curious and not trying to bait or play any games. I want to hear what real people have in mind in which they believe a political party should adhere to.

To start, naturally, I will give you my synopsis.

Bailouts of any kind: Against. I believe if a company is operating in the free market, they should die in the free market. Life is not fair, we ourselves do not receive bailouts, so why should those that obviously called upon favors receive such massive amounts of money to fund failing business plans?

War: War should only be conducted as follows: Declared by Congress and be in self defense. I believe we should run like a business, not an empire. Not long ago I used to have the notion that if we are in a theater of war, to cut and run would look week, but in reality, it would boost our defenses at home. Stop playing world cop and focus on what should be the strongest nation in the world.

Taxes: Get rid of the IRS and adopt a consumption tax. Get rid of income taxes. Take the 'ace in the sleeve' from the special interest groups and lobbying groups away and try to replace with a non-intrusive, not production killing, non-liberty tax structure as possible.

(A side note to this: I would love if the world could operate without taxes, as I would suspect many people do too. While this could never be achieved at the Federal level, at local levels, it is very much achievable.)

Liberty: Should be the number one goal of representatives and the People alike. Strong knowledge in how a self-governing society operates is a must and should be a staple in the curriculum of schools.

Education: While I believe schools should teach the importance of being active in one's governance, I believe that education should be conceded to the States and the People respectively as per the 10th Amendment. Having a blanket, bureaucratic agency try and dictate 300+ million people in terms of education has gotten us no where really fast. It is time to rethink a national education 'plan'

Abortion, Gay Marriage, and anything else that should be left up to the People: The government is not established to limit the people, but rather the Government itself. Free peoples should be free to do what they wish as long as it does not infringe upon another Man's liberty. That said, I believe all should be held responsible for their courses of actions.

Immigration: We need to seal off the leaking tap. Halt all immigration until we establish solid ground rules on immigration. Quotas need to be brought back. I know this goes against my typical "maximum liberty" concept, but a flood of under educated and unskilled workers really takes a toll on the country as a whole.

Heath care: Its your body in terms of an abortion, but not in terms of general health care. Be responsible and take care of yourself. Its called responsibility. There are plenty of places that exist that are willing to offer their medical services for either nothing or next to it. Just do not come crying to the Government when you have been a smoker for 65 years and you have an advanced case of lung cancer. Be a man (or woman) and own up to the fact you have lived a lifestyle that put you in the place you are.

Free-Markets: Regulation can be a good thing, if not in place to meddle and manipulate the market in favor of those that have filled your coffers with the most cash. See Enron, Fannie Mae, Goldman Sahcs, etc., etc.

It is time to understand that regulating a market to make it more 'fair' does the exact opposite. Rent controls, price floors and any other artificial means outside of normal market forces only further the destruction of the world's largest economy.

Overall:

Maximum liberty, maximum freedom.

The Leash Theory of Change - In all things (politics, business, technology, etc) there is a Bell Curve, and that bell curve changes over time because there are always trend setters who move off from the mainstream to start a new bell curve of early adopters. Either the mainstream follows a trend or the trendsetters are snuffed out or held back because of the mainstream opting not following that trend. Anyhow, I find that all political movements, when allowed to be dictated by the masses, tend to gradually move toward a more moral solution for society. However, the problems with change all stem from when an individual forces the masses to adopt a lone ranger set of radical ideas as opposed to allowing the masses to determine whether or not to follow a trend without force. Can any single individual or single group ever present a perfect set of plans for the benefit of all? That is highly unlikely, and mainly because too many changes happening all at once will always tend to crash the mainstream system's status quo and it is also impossible to get concise and clearly understood feedback from changing too many variables at once.

I'll be honest.
When asked by a reporter if I had sex with an intern, I'll say "Why yes. And it was awesome. I wouldn't usually mention it, but hey...if she's bragging to the press about it, then I must be pretty awesome too. Next question."

I'll be efficient
When terrorist attacks happen on our soil, if I feel the need to do something about it, instead of spending hundreds of billions of dollars and mobilizing hundreds of thousands of troops to locate a single man...I'll send a sniper.

I will communicate with the people
No written speeches. Everything will be improvised. And no timed debates. If somebody wants to debate me, we can have a regular conversation like human beings. I'll have a weekly address on tv or radio to share my thoughts, and to listen. I will accept live calls.

I have vision
I'm not interested in telling you what we need to do, or how it needs to be done. I have no pre-fabricated solutions. I have a vision for where we want to be. A beautiful vision of how life can be if we allow it. And if you make me your leader, I will get us there.

Bailouts of any kind: Depends on the circumstances and whether they'll actually solve the problems they're supposed to solve.

War: Ideally it should be a last resort and used in self defence only. Sometimes, however, I believe that interfering in foreign affairs is necessary (WW2, for example).

Taxes: Progressive taxation, which should be as low as possible but still able to cover various government programs (healthcare, education, the welfare state, the police force, etc.)

Liberty: Is a poorly defined and inherently subjective idea.

Education: Is for the most part good, although I feel some things such as school league tables prevent schools from improving.

Abortion, Gay Marriage, etc: Should have very little to do with the government.

Immigration: Is generally a good thing for the nation.

Heathcare: Should be kept publicly-owned, state-run and free at the point of access for all legal residents of the country.

Free-Markets: Are good to a point but should be subjected to various regulations.

Voting Systems: A reform of the voting system to a Proportional Representation system would be ideal in my opinion.

The House of Lords: Should be elected.

The Monarchy: Undecided, leaning towards Pro-Monarchy.

Freedom of Speech: Libel laws are necessary and should be enforced. Banning racist and otherwise 'controversial' speech is unnecessary in my opinion.

Gun Control: "Home Defence" should be a legitimate reason for owning a gun provided you meet the various requirements. Handguns should be un-banned.

Drugs: A policy of decriminalisation similar to that of Portugal should be implemented. Marijuana should be fully legalised, taxed, and regulated. Drugs education should probably be improved.

I disagree.
Only immigration of people which are needed on the labour market and there is shortage of them (highly educated professionals) is good for the nation. Immigration of poorly educated people is very bad, the market is ALREADY oversaturated with cheap unqualified labour force to the point its that even domestic people cannot find such work. The poor immigrants then only lower the value of low-qualification work even lower, thus number of unemployable people rises and the burden on the society they pose increases.

To sum it up: immigration of qualified individuals for which there is shortage on the market is good. Immigration of unqualified individuals is very bad. But since majority of immigrants today fall into the latter category, immigration is generally a BAD thing for the nation.

Politics- Poly (many) Ticks (bloodsucking parasites)

My political campaign would be for an absolute monarchy.

As I am King,

I would expect everyone else to stand up and be King or Queen.

If they fail in life and do nothing productive with their Kingdom (themselves), they would have no representative to blame.

If they wanted to do something productive with their Kingdom, it would be on them to do so.

All being Kings and Queens, they would treat each other accordingly.

Seeing one Kingdom suffering, the other Kingdoms would do what was in their power to assist them.

Of course, I have said all this and more already.

Your assumptions are quite wrong. I care not about sides, left or right, red of blue. I merely was asking what convictions you have. Generally people have them. They have ideals and principles that they are firm on and they have some were there is wiggle room.

So, no its not another one of 'those threads'. If you are bothered by the thread, why even respond with such a ridiculous response. Just pass it up. It really isn't that hard to do.

I don't even want people to list things as I did, just speak out about what you believe. Sometimes the best way to test an idea is to put it in the open and allow it to be tested.

See that is how a regular person would operate. Just as they do in their daily lives because their character weighs heavy in their day to day dealings, may it be personal or business. One cannot run around promising the world and then pass them a pebble calling it the 'world.' That is what politicians do. It isn't what they are supposed to do. We have all grown too accustomed in our persons holding public office to be generally bottom-feeders in terms of character.

Overall, I would much rather see average people begin to recognize that if they are not involved and/or interested in self-governance, we will continue to see the likes of the majority of politicians on the stage now.

Again, excellent post.

Here in Britain, we have Eastern Europeans (sometimes even with master's degrees) coming over and doing the jobs that native Britons either don't want to do or don't do very well.

We live in a globalised economy and honestly I don't think that people who are less productive should be chosen just because they happen to be native to the country.

Yeah, I have family members who went to work to the west. Main reason for this are currency exchange rates - people earn more in Britain doing simple jobs than they would earn here in high qualified jobs. But this is true only when they come back here to spend their money. Thats why these people are not immigrants, because they do not stay in Britain, they are not citizens, and (as far as I know) they do not get welfare.

There should be no such restrictions for jobs, economic freedom is very important for prosperity. But there should be such restrictions for immigrants that want to become new citizens of another country, stay there longer, get welfare etc..

As far as most people are concerned, they're considered immigrants while in the country. I believe that they are entitled to welfare while they're here (I haven't checked this, however, so I may be wrong).

Personally, I liked the Liberal Democrat proposals for immigration control.

I suppose by this you mean everyone will be returning to their home of origin. How far back are we going?
Does this mean Native Americans will be returned their homeland then?

Whites eh... Exactly what percent "white" makes a "white" these days?
Do highly freckled people count as white, or multicolored?

So freedom doesn't exist in your world view. Perhaps your freedom should be the first we strip. Seems your barbaric world view would best be contained in a cage.

Do you have enough "whites" to care for all these "whites", or do you presume to force non-whites to do the doctoring of them. I do not think it wise to put your life in the hands of one you enslave.

Ah more slavery, even of your "racial comrades". This is sure to gain you support!

By your post, what would pass as education, would ruin your "Empire" before it took its first breath.

I am sure you made this post from the seriousness of your heart my friend. Unfortunately, you would get no where with such a platform. No one, not even your "racial comrades", wants to be enslaved. People already learned the lessons of the First Hitler. Do you really think people are willing to give that route another try. You may want to abandon those efforts and look for a doctrine that has not been tried, and failed miserably, through history.

Then again, if it benefits you, keep it. From my point of view, I see your hate is completely and utterly blinding you to any real chance at reason. All I can say is, Watch out for that tree!

With Love,

Your Brother

  • New Bill of Rights
    1) Your body, your property, your choice
    - it basically grants each and every individual the right to decide for themselves what they do with their own body and property (freedom of speech, freedom to use drugs, right to self-defense from attackers violating this right, freedom from tax on their labor, freedom from genital mutilation, circumcision, and other scarification rituals done on minors, etc)
    2) The meek shall inherit the earth
    - it basically grants each and every individual an equal portion of the natural resources of the planet as well as the natural resources of the solar system. As those resources are mined each and every individual can take their share and sell it for cash or hold on to it to do as the please (sell at a later date, use for making things, etc). I would probably bar Uranium 235 and the couple Plutonium isotopes from this plan for obvious reasons and have them burned up in reactors so that these nuclear bomb making materials no longer exist on earth.
(Even if those who own all the earthly raw materials fought this in court and tied it up for decades I think space mining will soon become a reality and it has been estimated that there are $100 billion worth of raw materials for each and every person on this planet if all of the asteroid belt were divided up equally amongst us all.
  • One World Government
    - create a structure that has those previously mentioned Rights enshrined into international law.
    - allow member states, counties, to have cultural laws in place that violate only the "your body, your property, your choice" amendment as I recognize that getting a world of people to agree to allowing drug use or sex outside of marriage, etc would be next to impossible. The only exception would be sexual mutilation, circumcision, and scarification of minors would not be allowed by member states and counties.
    - create the punishment of banishment as a punishment someone convicted of violating a consensual crime (drug use, homosexuality, sex outside of marriage, free speech, etc) would be allowed to choose. If banishment is chosen by a convict of a consensual crime law then that convict would be banished to another state or county that agreed to take them rather than face the state or county's proscribed punishment. The option of banishment for a convict to choose would also be a requirement of member states in order to join.
  • Open Source Education
    - provide K - University Graduate level education through computers so that education can largely be automated for things like the hard sciences and math resulting in those subjects being free. Get teachers assistant volunteers to help with classes like writing where computers cannot so easily be used to teach subjects.

Encourage the use of dual-n-back exercises which are shown to improve IQ.
Encourage regular physical exercise as it is also shown to improve IQ.
  • Open Source Building
    - create open source building designs and a building making machine, essentially a building replicator, to provide for all the housing and other building needs of the people of the planet. With each person have an inherited natural resource share it should be easy to provide housing for all the people of the earth. If the designs for the buildings and the building replicator are open source then it will essentially cost nothing in a monetary sense to make buildings.
  • Open Source Food
    - create an open source repository for all the knowledge on how to grow as quickly as possible healthy nutritious food in a open source designed food replicator that grows food to harvest and harvests it automatically without the need for human labor so food becomes free.
  • Open Source Clothing
  • Open Source Transportation
  • Open Source Energy
  • Open Source Mining
    - same idea as the other open source initiatives except it relates to clothing, transportation, energy, and mining.

From there, the sky is the limit. 7 billion highly educated individuals with tons of free time on their hands who will be able to live their lives as they see fit in communities that reflect their values, and who will be interested in improving themselves and the world around them because they no longer are sucked into the rat race having to worry about paying the bills and other mundane tripe.

It will work, of that I am confident, the biggest hurdle will be in creating the open source movements. That will require experience, skill, and leadership. I'd love to see people like Linus Torvalds and John Carmack heading up such a project.
