This is a whole lot of baloney, with not nearly enough research, study or peer review to make it even slightly credible....is what I was trying to say.

This whole counter theory is the work of two men. Neither of them notable or outstanding in the field. Just because a couple of guys introduce a "new" theory it cannot be accepted even on the most academic level without peer review and testing for validity, accuracy and truth. Until then is is just so much heresy from low level researchers who have been likely PAID to arrive at a predetermined conclusion favorable to whoever is funding the research.

Korg - Present climate change is being caused by man, and is not a natural weather cycle.
The misinformation "leaked" by a small cabal of scientists, is diametrically opposed to and in point of fact "contrary" to the truth of the matter. Same as this study.

This is how I see it. Memories can be changed. They can be changed by unethical shrinks to implant memories AND they can be changed by some abusers.

If you believe some memories are false/implanted, how can you not believe this technique is used to cover-up abuse? And on the other hand, if you believe some memories are repressed/changed, how can you not believe a psychologist would use this technique to change memories?

Though I do agree there are probably many more cases of shrinks implanting memories than there were of actual repressed memories. If you read the studies, repressed memories would NOT just happen based on abuse alone. Memories are changed based on certain techniques - ones which occur in analysis.

Much like a computer - it's easier to input a memory/data than to erase a memory.

It is not that difficult to implant a false memory. Once you talk to someone and they put image to the words you have spoken a feeling will resonate with said thought. If you keep talking about it and using descriptive language that enables the senses to get triggered and more emotional response to be made it will stay as a memory. After a while it can be hard for the brain to remember if that chain of thoughts, images, and feelings was "true" or 'false'.

I've witnessed a lot of people who tell lies to the point where they believe them...

Much in this same way for themselves.

Repressed is something deliberately forgotten. It is a bodies reaction to extreme trauma. It happens.

This is not to say ideas can't be put into peoples head.

But then, this is not news.
