This is a little stream of consciousness 'story' I 'had' to write to vent my feelings.
It's about undying love.. it's also a tribute to the song He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones, a beautiful and heartbreaking song about
unrequited love.
Stars danced before his eyes.
He was almost out of air..
Long forgotten memories started seeping from the back of his mind.
A beautiful oak tree bathing in sunshine.
The smell of flowers entered his nostrils.
Feelings of forgotten love and nostalgia threatened to overwhelm him.
A beautiful girl dressed in white.
He could almost feel her warm embrace.. he saw the look of love sparkling in her eyes.
A simpler time, before the weight of the world had left him jaded and scarred..
'We used to hold hands, we used to kiss' he thought.. the memories left him with a bittersweet feeling.
He still loved her to this day.. was it truly better to have loved and lost?
A boy, a younger version of himself took out a pocketknife and started carving a heart and their names into the old tree..
'It's funny how things change' he thought.. and with that thought he closed his eyes.
He stopped loving her that day.
If you're wondering what's happening to the man in the story, I'm not quite sure.. but I think he's drowning.
I'm not sure if the grammar is correct, I never got to learn real english grammar in school(it's not my native language either) and I'm a drop out
so the english I know is pretty much self learned. I welcome criticism on the grammar since that would only help me to become a better writer.
now ur talkin my kind of music !!!
The King of Country
course I'm not sure where you are trying to lead this thread to
as it seemed a lil vague to me. Were you asking the meaning
of the lyrics to the video or meaning of the words you wrote
in the OP???
Yes, it's funny how life how so many untaken paths... Memories, too bad we can't live in the past... if we could, maybe we wouldn't live our
lives for the future.
Thanks, these compliments mean a lot to me since I have very bad self confidence from time to time.
It really made my day!
I was gonna post another thread with some of my poems but I realized I only have one in english and that was a spontaneous reply to a thread here on
ATS.
It's also about love..(big surprise)
Specifically I wrote it as an answer to a thread about love in dreams.
Meeting someone you used to love and cherishing the moments with that person in the dream only to wake up to a dull reality without them.
Here it is:
I don't want to dream about her but she comes like a thief in the night,
devious but so lovely, oh so bright.
Sparks as we kiss, caress and we touch,
back to reality where the dreams that we shared never amounted to much.
