Senators Challenge Pres. Obama on Rumors of Executive Order Amnesty

Several Senators have learned of a possible plan by the Obama Administration that would provide a mass Amnesty for the nation's 11-18 million illegal aliens. Led by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), eight Senators addressed a letter to the President asking for answers to questions about a plan that would allow DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to provide an amnesty if they can't secure enough votes for a bill in the Senate.

The letter that was sent to Pres. Obama earlier today asks the President for clarification on the use of deferred action or parole for illegal aliens. The executive actions are typically used in special cases and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but if 60 votes can't be secured in the Senate to pass a mass Amnesty, the Administration may use the discretionary actions as an alternative.

If Obama can do this with Executive Order, the U.S.A has become a De-facto Corporate Dictatorship.

Sen. Kyl: 'Obama Says No Border Security without Amnesty'

In a stunning revelation at an Arizona town hall meeting this past Friday, Republican Senator Jon Kyl told his constituents that President Obama privately insisted that he will not secure the border until amnesty for illegal aliens passes first. According to Kyl, Obama argued that Democrats would lose their bargaining chips for any type of amnesty if the government beefs up its presence on the chaotic border. “The problem is,” Obama allegedly told Kyl, "If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

While I am not in favor of "mass amnesty" I do think this is an important part of a REAL solution to the immigration problem.

First and foremost the border must be secured.

Secondly the legal immigration process has to be streamlined and we have to set up satellite offices across the border to help them immigrate lawfully.

Lastly, we have to have an "amnesty period" where illegals can turn themselves in and go through the legal process of becoming immigrants. They can be checked out and documented and given their papers.

NOW...after these three steps are taken, anybody remaining illegally should be treated as a foreign combatant or dangerous criminal. The border cannot be so porous, and the penalties for sneaking across should be SEVERE! But, first we have to fix the current situation.

Here is my solution thread from a long while back:

I'm highly concerned about illegal immigration, don't get me wrong. However I think the more distressing news is that the administrations we have been voting in say "Well, we can't get it through Congress, eh F it, we'll just sign whatever we want through Executive Order". That is a Dictatorship at its most blatant.

This is tyranny plain and simple, and I would go so far as to say High Treason. This has to stop.

People forget, mass amnesty was already given by the Regan Administration to 3 million Illegals. It was supposed to be a one time deal, followed by strong border security.

Lets see if you do your math. Amnesty for 3 Million gives us 15 Million More Illegals 5X.

Amnesty for 15 Million, no lets not even go there.

Whatever about the amnesty, but people are fooling themselves if they think that the feds will secure the border. That's was why Regan gave amnesty, because the deal was amnesty for a secure border. Didn't happen then, won't happen now. This is just another tyranical move, and as someone posted, high treason.

I swear, I can't freakin wait till Nov. and 2012 elections, anything has to be better than this a*s clown.

Exactly right. A one time mass amnesty makes things far worse, not better!

The only way it is effective is if they first tighten up the border, second, begin processing more legal immigration apps, and third force the current illegals to turn themselves in and go through a vetting process to get their amnesty. The hardworking ones that have started to build a life for themselves get to stay, while the others have to go.

When they go, they are reminded that the next offense will carry severe consequences, if they survive the highly patrolled border incursion!

A little background on the reasoning for my plan:
I worked in the construction industry, and I come from the Midwest where Clinton "saved" Arkansas by building Turkey and Chicken processing plants and creating tens of thousands of jobs that nobody wanted!

I realize that our infrastructure is highly dependent on this labor pool, and that certain industries would be shut down if we removed all the illegal immigrants.

I also understand that many of the illegal immigrants are learning English and attempting to meld into our society. They are often hard-working families with high morals and virtues and work ethics. So they shouldn't be looked down upon or treated as criminals.

So, how do we account for these people, prop up the industries that depend on them, and at the same time take the burden off the taxpayers, and shore up our borders from threats??

Steps 1 through 3 as I already mentioned and Then...
step 4 and 5 of my plan:

4. After the 6 month Amnesty Period, We enlist our businesses and Hospitals, and Driver's License Bureaus, and every American to report illegal aliens! If we know they are here, and we don't get them deported, then we are all guilty!
If they show up at the ER, we patch them up, and then we arrest and deport!
If they show up looking for work, we document them, take their info, and give it to immigration!
If they want a Driver's License, we take their info, and we direct them to the licensed officer waiting to deport them!

5. We document Deported Aliens, and we make it clear that a second offense will be treated as a criminal offense, if they survive the encounter! We document, fingerprint, and database everyone who is deported, and we compare that info on every person we pick up.

There are 7 total steps, and surely still room for improvement.

He should be more worried about doing an Executive Order to extend Unemployment Benefits not help the illegal Mexicans who come here and take our damn jobs in the first place.

The government keeps telling us they are here to protect us, when the only protection we really need if protection from them.

Star for you.

As someone in the state with the highest unemployment, I applaud your alternative idea.

As an aside, you're starting to sound like you might need to change your avatar label ...

Obama is not going to secure the borders if he gets it or not... Don't anybody fool themselves... Everyday we fall a little farther away from hope into the clutches of tyranny.
This guy has no interest in helping anyone... It is just to further his agenda.

This is a test by the Mexicans to see if they are going to let you flood into their country when Yellowstone explodes. If America behaves in a compassionate way then Mexico will let you in, if you do not they will close the border and let you all die.

Then again maybe Obama really is trying to destroy America, turn it Muslim, build a Giant Mosque on ground zero, allow the CIA to set off nuclear bombs on US soil, Obama make millions from the selling of BP stock (Oh yeah that really did happen didn't it). Let the GoM oil spill continue to shut down the Gulf coast and kill off all the people on welfare.

You know it is so hard to figure out what is really going on these days, I say if it sounds anti American then it probably is. Flooding the country with illegal foreigners, bankrupting the social welfare system, sending more troops overseas when you could do with a few of them in southern Arizona sounds kinda anti American to me?

Don't get me wrong i am not saying arrest him and throw his arse in jail or anything
BUT when your already in the sh#t you might as well start paddling.

Hmm.. die quickly from a volcano, or die slowly from the contaminated water...

Mexico, as a country, has nothing I would bother spitting on. That has no bearing on the people of that country. It's just the country is a cesspool.

If that happens, point your compass north.

Hey, why not? Now the vast majority of illegal immigrants who are actually here doing work can actively pay into the American taxation system. Talk about a much needed boost!

Can we hear from the Canadians on this please? Yellowstone wipes out the west, the oil spill toxic soup handles the east, Mexico's too dangerous and Canada doesn't want us. I can see us all descending on Missouri.

It's so nice to have friends
In Missouri.

and just my opinion here (only an opinion)
but IF Obama does give
all illegals amnesty,
there will be anarchy and riots
in all 57 states (hehe)
with a violent Revolution
soon to follow, ending up
on the White House Lawn
with a regime change
in mind. Wall Street and
the Fed would be next to fall.

Especially after multiple
national polls give AZ law
a 60% approval rating.

They probably send more money back to Mexico than they pay into the coffers here. That's a guess, but But otherwise, why would the Mexican government be so up in arms about Arizona's law? To the point that they are petitioning our courts to reverse it? Give me a break.

And if they're working illegally now chances are they're not paying taxes anyway and would continue not to. I mean who would if they could get away with not paying, right? Sure, eventually if they want true amnesty they'll have to, but with the speed at which things move in this country, that could be a while. Yet the drain on our few remaining taxpayers and our tax base would continue.

I hope he "considers" long and hard. And above all considers that there are existing LAWS and that the vast majority of Americans would probably oppose this move.
