seemings that we as Americans are highly dissatisfied with the present condition of our ruling body, the President, perhaps a new form of government is needed.

perhaps we should get rid of our current democracy! it is a government by the people, for the people! but, maybe that is the problem! and onto my idea...

I believe that we should set into play a new government! tear down this Democracy and replace it! it would end this arguing and hatred of the Government!

we should get rid of the free speech! then no hate shall take place! we could still kill the king beneath our hats, however.

perhaps a dictatorship by someone who we all "love" would end this. our government is terrible anyway.

and if by now you are yelling at me, pressing ignore, and saying that "Don't you say that! Our government is the best on the world!", my mission has been accomplished.

I'm all in favor of a citizen's referendum.

1) Strip all Federal laws from the books: strip right down to the Constitution and its Amendments.
2) Start over.

yes that would work greatly. but, down the road, there will still be discontent in the populace. its just a flaw in human nature!

Maybe the nation should be broke apart into a system that makes sense. The Balkanization of the USA.

I don't really advocate this but what we have currently is such a train wreck I am up for a change.

It actually worked for a few hundred years under Rome. The only difference was that those emperors were indoctrinated to protect certain inalienable rights and privileged. We have few and far from leaders who are indoctrinated into this belief system. Hence why it would fail.

With the benefit of having "current" opinions considered, not ones over 200 hundred years old. More room to be lenient, more room to establish definitive limits.

More relevant to today, than yesterday.

There are few faults with the Constitution, just faults with what's happened since then.

yes, and Julius Caesar was actually a humanitarian! yet, this angered the people, and so he was assassinated.

true, but as you even stated, opinions change. that is why there is discontent now, and there will be more discontent as we go farther. because opinions do change as the world itself does.

Isn't that what Hitler did?
1924:Reichstag dissolved for 5th time in German History
1925:The Nationalization of business in cartels
1925:The outlawing of income that is not earned
1930:September Elections: Nazis score victory:
1931:Hitler, in December, on cover of Time Magazine
1932:Germany sees Economic Recovery
1933:The Reichstag, German Legislature Building Burns
1933:Hitler takes Office in January: Consolidates Chancellorship & Presidency
1933:Enabling Law allowing Civil Rights Suspension
1933:Beginning of racial polices which later become law
1933:Nazis infiltrate and control Labor Unions
1933:First mass demonstrations (rallies) of "Fuhrer Worship"
1933:Compulsive sterilization of Mental "Defectives"
1933:Laws established excluding Jews from Civil Service

Wow this all sounds so familiar.

Star and flag for you, I've been wanting to post that for a long time..

It would also be good to set the Constitution on viral mode. Give it away to other nations, because the problem is international. It should be interesting to see how well America's new flow of emigrants are received when they land, anywhere but here.

Naturally, we would have to ban the media from steering the course. Let them tell us the time and temperature. We can form our own free opinions, using an unrestricted internet.

I would go so far as to say that the media are not even worthy to grovel and apologize for their perfidy. They ought to be happy that God lit up volcanoes, just in time, and they no longer will have to lie for the thugs in 'power'~ (I don't mean obama).

I respect your argument but I must say it is completely reactionary.
There are multitudes of threads and topics on this website that you should
research, as well as the internet at large. I would suggest you do this while
you have the time. I am a jaded man and I accept the world as it is.
I always have faith for the rights and liberties of the common man.
From what I can discern however, we live in an Oligarchy, not a Democracy.
The liberties you speak of throwing away, have been earned by countless
lives of my relatives ,friends, their relatives, and humanities unsung heroes.

If you are willing to be trampled under foot, please be my guest.
But Count me out.
