I cant belive this is not on this site yet...
The Eyjafjallajökull volcano erupted for the first time in 200 years All flights to British airspace have been suspended after ash caused by the eruption forced air traffic controllers to restrict take-offs and landings.

Kind of worries me that those telling us not to worry would have to say this even if we had something to worry about in order to not cause panic,im sure they have not got the weather down to a fine art just yet so who knows how this ash will come to the UK.

There are quite a few threads on this already.... :0)

And I would not worry about the Ash... if you think how much ash fell from montserrat (mega amounts) whereas this is all high-altitude ash. If it falls it will be small scale...

Unless of course there is an even BIGGER eruption....
