Despite 'row,' US seals military deal with Israel (Source)

The US gives written consent to generously boost the Israeli military despite Washington's alleged dissatisfaction with Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Upon agreeing on a relevant deal, the United States agreed to hand over roughly 250-million-dollars worth of Hercules C-130J aircraft to the Israeli army, the Israeli Haaretz newspaper said on Thursday.

Amazing, with all the 'tensions' between the U.S. and Israel right now we still give them incredibly powerful weapons like they are candy. In case you do not know the C-130J, check it out here. If you have ever seen Transformers, you briefly know what these planes are capable of as they circle above a target reining machine-gun and cannon fire on a target.

In the hands of the Israeli army I do not want to know what they will do with these planes.

Wrong. The C-130J is a transport plane, what you are thinking of is the AC-130

AC-130

The AC-130 is a special variant of the C-130 with a Vulcan minigun, a 20mm cannon, and a 105mm howitzer fitted for aerial gunnery support. It is based on the famous AC-47 aka "Puff the Magic Dragon" of Vietnam War fame.

The aircraft have been custom made to suit the Israeli needs, the daily added.

Maybe I am just speculating, but the Israelis don't exactly need some heavy duty transport planes. The custom made makes me think armed to the teeth.

What tension ???
Israel exists because of the USA.
Israel has weapons of mass destruction provided by the USA.
Israel receives more than 3 billion per year from American tax payers.

Why not just call it a state ?
Or is it just a convenient situation to enable US control over Middle East politics ?

Since 1950, the US government has provided over $91 billion in FMF to militaries around the world. The vast majority of these funds goes to Israel and Egypt to reward them for making a cold peace in 1979.

250 million might sound like a lot of money, and it is to me, but, the cost
of one C-130J in 2008 at flyaway cost was $62 million each. So if you
do a little math that amounts to just 4 of these planes. You can do quite
a bit of work with those planes, but 4 isn't too much to worry about.
