Rooting around checking weather I thought to check out the snowpack back east and tried to figure out were all that snow would go when it melts and
ran across this:
www.weather.gov...
As reported now,out of 4496 gauges, 109 show flooding, with another 100 near flood. 4 gauges show major flooding (1 around Jamestown, others near
Grand Forks), 13 moderate, 92 minor.
The remarkable thing is that:
a. they are mostly clustered in the southeast
b. it isn't raining there
c. major snow/rain is on the way in a few hours
Depending upon temperatures, we could be seeing some major flooding quite soon.
Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best for them.
If you live in the southeast, please prepare, just in case: there's few things deadlier than a winter flood.
