The thing that gets me is how accurate these charts are. For something that is considered a pseudoscience, it's pretty spot on.

Very new to ATS~ so a little slow getting in here...but here I am.
I have studied astrology for over 20 years...what would you like to know?
I will comment on a few things for starters-
There was a person who said change the location and then did so-
All that does is change your rising sign and will change any aspects that are forming to the rising sign (also known as the Ascendant). This really does not change much for all the other planets and aspects between them are the same. For the most part, the report will be the same. Only the 'mask' will change.
Also, these reports are only reporting on the planet/sign combination. What is being presented is only 'this planet in this sign expresses this energy'.
For those that feel that the report is not quite on the mark, then I would say that you probably have some hard aspects effecting the expression of the sign planet combination. An aspect is the degrees of separation or proximity of two planets. Aspects can greatly change the energy output.
Some one posted the picture of their chart. Look at it and see the colored lines inside the wheel- those lines denote the aspects. Some are harmonious and some are 'hard' and they are as they sound.
From most of the reports - "Neptune is in xx Sagittarius.

This is no surprise. If you look at Pluto, most of the reports will have the same placement.
Uranus, Neptune & Pluto are all called 'generational' planets. They move incredibly slow through the zodiac.
Uranus takes approx 84 years, Neptune is 164 and Pluto is 247.
This means that for Neptune, it remains in one sign for just over 13 years.
Compare that to the Sun, that changes signs roughly every 30 days, or better yet, to the Moon that changes signs about every 2 1/3 days.
So we have planets in signs, aspects between planets, there are planets in retrograde, then there are houses. Houses are dictated by the Ascendant, the sign of your ascendant is always the sign of your 1st House.
There is a whole lot more to consider, Astrology can be very complex.
I could get into more detail with examples, but currently I am short on time.
*Ask a question or two, I'd be more than happy to answer. (when I can, I tend to be busy most of the time with a few extended down times when I can 'play' in places like this)
