Dadburn Commie schoolkids!
Does WND know what decade it is? Just wondering since they seem to be stuck in the early 50's!
It's interesting how the "alternative" ATS'ers fall for decades old idiocy just to be fashionably anti! This "commies are coming" BS has been going on as long as I can remember, yet somehow America endures. Fear mongering is for cowards and weak minds.

[edit on 23-12-2009 by OldDragger]

LOL and anyone silly enough to think these ornaments were made by innocent schoolchildren is following the same idiocy you speak of, because we all know school children know all about transvestites don't we? Oh wait, they do! That's because of Obama's Porno Promototer... er I mean Safe School Czar.

Gosh darn me for being skeptical that these kids just innocently ran across these images of transvestites and Mao, and decided, "HEY! Lets make President Obama some Christmas Tree ornaments!"

Then, he PUT THEM ON THE TREE!

Riiiiight.. and I have a healthcare bill program for you, step into this alley so we can chat.

We all know the personal hatred towards president Obama from fringe conservatives. They'd like nothing more but to spill their personal dislike of the man onto the rest of us, and I really dont understand how they will do that?

Really? Arguing about the mans christmas decorations? his personal freedoms? his middle name?? his heritage? his faith?? whether his wearing a flag pin?? These are the issues more important to america?? all these things are more important than the real issue we're facing?? A failing healthcare system, the economy, and all ya'll be caring about are this mans christmas decorations?? Really?? And people still wonder how Bush got elected, twice.

Pathetic.

Fringe conservatives hate freedom for all.

So instead of having something to add to the topic of the thread, you attack the posters posting in the thread?

Once again, I agree with you S.G., for the most part. This is getting to be a habit. I know. It bothers me too.
j/k

I. COULD. CARE. LESS. what quirkey things President Obama and the First Lady choose to adorn their Christmas tree with. We have a SouthPark Santa on ours, as well as many homemade things.

1. We don't know where the ornaments came from.
2. We don't really have any verification that this is, in fact, the President's tree.
3. IF these do adorn the President's tree, we don't know what value it may hold for him.

4. I still don't care.
5. At least it IS a Christmas tree (IF it's the President's).
6. See #4

Imagine my relief. After you changed your post, I can't say I agree any more. *whew* Close one.

Those are all lies. I posted links with quite verifiable information, including videos.

Earlier this month, when the Christmas tree was unveiled, first lady Michelle Obama described how it was decorated in a video posted on the White House Web site:

"Our starting point was a very simple idea," she said. "That we include people in as many places, in as many ways as we can. We took about 800 ornaments left over from the previous administrations. We sent them to 60 local community groups throughout the country and asked them to decorate them, paying tribute to a favorite local landmark, and then send them back to us for display here at the White House.

"… in the new year, we all intend to renew this effort and continue this kind of outreach, so that everyone feels like they have a place here at the White House."

www.abovetopsecret.com...

"We" know exactly where they came from, and that they are in fact, in the WH, adorning their tree.

If more people went into threads to post how much they don't care about the subject of the threads, ATS would be a better place.

/s

Look, the WH even has a video about it:

www.whitehouse.gov...

3. IF these do adorn the President's tree, we don't know what value it may hold for him.

What value it may hold for him? Heh, so shameless.

Why not hang Hitler on the tree too? Would people still say so what?

So...you want the White House to censor the ornaments?!
To inspect 'em to make sure they are all American?
Jeez. Such outrage!
Maybe Congress can pass a law, or better yet , Obama can issue an executive order that all ornaments be Glen Beck approved!
Liberty Gal won't you come out tonight, come out tonight, come out tonight! And dance by the light of the ....moooon!
So sorry! I could not resist!

Yes.

I think there is a very succinct quote that just simply ends the consternations.

During the 2008 Presidential campaign Barack Obama told audiences,

'Judge me by the people with whom I surround myself.'

Ok, so we are. We are doing what he said to do.

So should you.

So should everyone.

I bet you did it to Bush.

Isn't that a tad hypocritical?

Ahhh LibertGal! I'll lasso the moon and pull it right down to Bedford Falls!
And I can honestly say I never, ever gave even one second thought to Bush's ornaments!

Not shameless at all Libertygal, just honest. If you've read any of my posts on the subject, you'd know I'm no fan of the President. However, I'm also no fan of WMD, who seems to pluck little insignificant kernals of whimsey from everywhere, and in the process, discredit themselves -- at least to me. Where did our impartial, objective sources go? Did they ever exist?

I believe in fairness, and I want to see evidence -- every time -- of claims, regardless of if they happen to resonate with my views or not. I did a search for the OP story, and couldn't find anything.

So..... what do the ornaments represent to the President? Do you know? Should we guess, and then attach a meaning to that....... or just look for a Republican website to answer that question?

That's why it doesn't matter to me. It's his tree. If he manages to not finish screwing up the economy, I'll be happy to send him a Hanky-the-Christmas-turd ornament to add to his collection (although that'd probably be construed as a threat).

I'm fining you seventeen arbitrary points worth nothing whatsoever for gratutious use of "Hitler". The reference doesn't belong.

I looked on your linked video......... watched it twice. I can't find the dreaded ornaments referred to in the OP story. The manner in which the various ornaments were gathered was verified.

I don't see as well as I once did. Perhaps I missed them. If you see them, I'd appreciate it [not sarcasm, real appreciation] if you could point out a time on the vid.

thanks!

It does too belong.

"Judge me by those I surround myself with."

I think the things a person has, personally, says a *lot* about them. Especially what is in their home.

You can poo poo it away, thats fine, its just IMO, hence why I posted on the thread.

If you went into Obama's private study and saw Images of Mao, would it matter? When does it cross the line from, "Who cares?" to, "Whoa, this is a bit.. odd!"?

IMO it passed the line months ago, but only recently have people begun to wake up and realize.. he already finished the economy. You just haven't realized it yet.

The video is about how it was decorated. The slideshow shows the ornaments. There is a picture of the first couple posing in front of said tree.

Really, are you so skeptical you are going to doubt the sincerity of the story?

Is that what you are implying?

It wasn't Fox News, it wasn't WND, it was from biggovernment.com.

There are also citations on the original source from leftist blogs that think this is wonderful.

I might've realized it before you. Certainly talked about it last year -- my views of the (then Presidential candidate's) agenda.

I don't appreciate your generalizations, and in particular those about my opinions being "lies". They are opinions, just as yours are. I'm not willing to throw my hat in the ring with someone merely because they momentarily hold a similar view as myself.

The links inside WND indicate the possibility that Simon Doonan was the overseer of the White House Christmas ornaments.

Did President Obama approve of the Mao-with-makeup ornament? Probably. Does that ornament glorify Mao? Not to me. I can't say I approve of it, but I also can't say it matters, and I'm pretty sure it isn't symbolic of some furtive e-vile plan to communize America.

That's also why your Hitler remark was off-base -- the remark implies an approval of Hitler, if one doesn't agreed with YOUR disapproval of the Mao ornament.

Merry Christmas. I hope we can still type Christmas greetings to each other this time next year.

What more evidence do people need?

Obama dressed in Red with a Black silk cape, blood on his teeth and a Swastika (sp) on his lapel?????

He's certainly not hiding anything. :shk: ballsey.

Your passion is admirable. I doubt the sincerity of the website, and their treatment of the story. I was aligned with the views of WND for quite a while, until I noticed the pattern of making enormous events out of seemingly simple or ordinary things. That's why I initially agreed with SouthernGuardian in his post on this thread, until he added a political generalization.

I didn't vote for the President, and I wasn't in favor of his election, nor do I think he's doing well for the country.

Focusing attention on trivial things concerning the President ruins the credibility of his opponents, and makes EASY fodder for his supporters to lampoon and make sweeping generalizations about conservatives of their own. That's the reason I don't approve of sideways invectives of the President (Obummer, Barry, Obamanation, etc.). It just makes us look trite and foolish. The way to win a battle is with good tools, good people using them. That's why, for me, this stuff is unimportant.

I want to see the forest.

Do you understand now?

Obama is free to hang a depiction of a dead baby from his tree for all I care, but the fact is, he's our president, so a depiction of Mao in what's generally referred to as a stature of prominence on a christmas tree should make us question why.

Would you say the same if it were a depiction of a dead baby? Sure, he's legally allowed by all of our freedoms to hang whatever the hell he wants from the tree, but that doesn't mean nobody is allowed to criticize it, and it's connection with him.

Why would he allow a depiction of Mao on the tree if he didn't hold him prominent in his views?

First you say this:

And then you completely contradict yourself by saying this:

but the fact is, he's our president, so a depiction of Mao in what's generally referred to as a stature of prominence on a christmas tree should make us question why.

So you do care and its pathetic. Theres another thread out now concerning a $15,000 annual fee on some families in the current congressional healthcare plan, an issue that matters to all of us and you choose to fuss over whats in his christmas decorations? Really?

Would you say the same if it were a depiction of a dead baby?

No I wouldnt, but then again its a matter of individual belief right? You seem to see it as big of a deal as having a dead baby while I see it as just a decoration and could not care less. I really feel sorry at the fact your so sensitive so such petty things.

Sure, he's legally allowed by all of our freedoms to hang whatever the hell he wants from the tree,

Exactly, and yet you continue to yap on.

Obama is evil.
Bush is evil.

Jesus is possibly good or evil, the history book is not 100% finished for him.

Individuals have the freedon to choose good or evil.

A POTUS is expected to demonstrate goodness, fairness to every religion and all people like Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson and JFK demonstrated. Having Obama's face next to their's is demonstating arrogance and stupidity that Fox News is correctly reporting as outrageous and unacceptable.

46% and dropping every week.
