Ok, well I have been out sick with the H1N1 over the past few days and have watched a lot of CNN unfortunetly.
Of course they only thing being covered at the moment is the Fort Hood incident and I really did enjoy the memorial this morning. It was well done,
it was honorable and respectfull.
However, I have some quams with the way the media is portraying things. It seems they have raised the "fear" level to orange.
It seems every year at this time there is some sort of event which again allows the media to scream and moan about terrorism and how we aren't doing
enough to protect ourselves from "extremists".
This is an attack on our psyche. It is designed to promote more of "give up you freedoms for security" type of ideology. It's unfortunate and I
for one am pretty upset that they would use such a tragic accent to re-open a debate which as of now is akin to beating a dead horse.
I was wondering what do other members of ATS see in the recent reportings and perhaps it's just me being paranoid, but I think this is more fear
propaganda. Not to say this event was orchestrated or anything, although I am sure some think so, it's more of an opportunity for them.
Thoughts?
