well not really....i think that kind of cruel and unusual punishment just adds more of the same kind of perverted energy to society. Witnessing people hanging from trees and bleeding from the testicles does not a well adjusted society make.

I covered any future technological advancements when I said "invitro or whatever else they come up with. Technology is great, but it's not going to change our biological drives.

If we are to live together on this planet as one, we have to get rid of whats wrong. Sexual energies and desires are all linked to violence. I think we will end up one day a far more spiritual race. Who knows, with tech, that we may find other ways of feeling good about ourselves.

I say one day there will be only one gender, and we will not need to gratify our sexual desires, as we will use this energy in a more positive way.

Sexual desires aren't what's wrong. Intolerance and power trips are the majority of what's wrong with this world. In the case of rape it's about power more often than not and has little to do with sexual desires.

I'd like to believe that our species will become less violent over time, but sadly I'm much too cynical to really believe it'll ever happen. A Utopian world is a lofty and worthwhile dream, but that's pretty much all it'll ever be. As a species we are extremely violent and barring the eradication of 9/10's of us we'll never get rid of those violent tendencies.

You do not know that. I wonder how many people for instance, just use porn than to try to find someone real, to have sex with. Technology does change people. Like in this way.

Does that remove the biological sexual desires? No it does not. Come on now, giving an example of something people use to satisfy their sexual desires does not prove your point that people will or are moving away from their basic urges.

This is a disgusting story, 2 hours is a very long time, the fact that so many people could see nothing wrong with it is appalling.
This sort of thing reminds me there is little hope for our species.

Monitering of people will do nothing to stop any rape, it will lead to more arrests after the fact, but thats it.
People need to be afraid of the consequenses IMO, Cut the hands of a rapist or child molester off so the prick can suffer the rest of his life.

I just cant believe so many people apparently think raping someone is ok..

Just a note to say that those who need proof of divine intervention, take note. I wanted to be a cop from an early age. I think that higher powers had another plan as I was convicted of a felony at a later date, It is my belief that those powers knew that I would ultimately become the executioner to these kinds of worthless people. These types of individuals have nothing positive to contribute to the society I want to live in. I will not judge them as that is Gods place, I would merely expedite that judgement day. I would rather stand before God having done something, than to have done NOTHING!

As terrible as it is, it has been going on for longer than humans have been around, and will continue to go on for as long as there are animals on the planet. I fail to see why this should herald in the end of all life on earth...

Yeah, in a case like this the consequences should be so serious that even being an accessory (IE: A bystander making jokes) carries risks far to high for it to be worth it.

I would rather we just have things like this carry an automatic death sentence. Not all rape, because there are shades of gray, women who lie, and degrees of seriousness (not that there is a such thing as good rape). In this case these people are just brutal animals, and what do we do with dogs that bite? We kill them.

This would be a prime example of the kind of case that uses this degree of punishment, there are multiple witnesses, DNA evidence, and video evidence (idiots). Since its irrefutable they should just be convicted, marched into a room to say goodbye to their families, and then shot. I don't want to pay a dime of my tax dollars to support them even behind bars, personally.

Obviously I was exaggerating in my title. However, that so many people are saying "it's been going on forever, whats the difference" is totally my point. The indifference of good people. It's wrong, and shameful.

Yes, these things have been happening forever. However, we are supposed to have advanced as a society, and still we sit and watch these things, take pictures, laugh, and even join in.

That there was not one good person in this group, that watched for over 2 hours. Not one person felt a sense of duty to help this poor person.

THAT is the issue.

Over a period I've observed quite a few tribes (groups) of peoples dotted across the globe mainly indigenous peoples hidden away in the jungles/forests that don't appear to display this tendency.

A recent example of this more gentle type of humanity appears to be the Piraha tribe of Brazil who rarely display any form of violence.

I cannot help observe (perhaps my imagination) a similarity between modern humans and the chimpanzee and tribes like the Piraha and Bonobo.

Could it be that the stresses of survival and the consumption of food that is not necessarily what we evolved to eat a contributing factor? Have we evolved from a placid animal into a completely violent animal or has humanity split ?

I was kinda afraid to say for fear of being flamed to a crisp, but it is possible she did want it and it ended up getting completely out of hand. A girl at an ex girlfriends senior party had sex with 3 dudes at one party. There are some scandalous people out there, and things can get real crazy real fast especially when drugs, alcohol, and poor judgement are involved....

That is by far one of the most rediculous things I have ever heard! Have you never heard of prison stories? Both men and women in prison get raped by the same sex! Single gender would not only end our exhistence on this planet, but it would solve absolutely nothing!

The solution is to return to the way things used to be! This would have never happened in the past when children were diciplined and taught respect. This soft approach to children is whats destroying the youth in this country. Humans aren't going to go above sexual desire. Its just who we are. Its nature and its a beautiful thing. Its just people like this... Its sick, really. But its these parents that never took the time to teach their kids right from wrong. So instead of trying to change human nature, try teaching your offspring. Not that hard, I promise. A simple "Rape is bad, mmkay?" Could make a whole world of difference.

Kids these days are sick and scary. I never thought I'd be afraid of a child. But nowadays they carry knives, quite literally, and curse worse then sailors. And that's by age 7. By age 12 they know all about sex and are already a raging bottle of hormones!! Not to say that I'm very old myself, but when I was 12, I had only ever cursed once in my life, and was only then getting out of the "boys have cooties" phase.

Its not that we have to change our design, we just have to teach our kids to be above that, and stop anyone that is not above it.
