“Press freedom must be defended everywhere in the world with the same energy and the same insistence,” Reporters Without Borders secretary-general Jean-François Julliard said today as his organisation issued its eighth annual world press freedom index.

“It is disturbing to see European democracies such as France, Italy and Slovakia fall steadily in the rankings year after year,” Julliard said. “Europe should be setting an example as regards civil liberties. How can you condemn human rights violations abroad if you do not behave irreproachably at home? The Obama effect, which has enabled the United States to recover 20 places in the index, is not enough to reassure us.”

Reporters Without Borders compiles the index every year on the basis of questionnaires that are completed by hundreds of journalists and media experts around the world. This year’s index reflects press freedom violations that took place between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009.

Bah - as if there is freedom of press in America - what a joke.

The press is controlled by the NWO - they dont tell the reporters what to do - they simply tell their bosses what to report - and their boss tells them.

If they come back with something the NWO doesn't like - that will not find its way into the MSM.

That list is absolute nonsense based on some arbitrary numbers cooked up by a bunch of Frenchies. It means NOTHING!

They always peg the Scandinavians as the best example for everything. The press in those countries is ridiculous! They have barely any political discussion and barely any significant reporting. Tell me one international Scandinavian news outlet ? There are NONE. America has the BEST freedom of the press and Obama coming to the White House has done little to change that fact.

That silly rag of statistics is merely a politically motivated ranking based on arbitrary data that runs on who the Frenchies think are best!

Its a waste of cyberspace.
