AA is a great resource if you really want to quit, find a sponsor and attend meetings in conjunction with finding a new activty to take part in that doesn't involve being anywhere near booze. Ask yourself why you drink in the first place, your answer will then give you a direction to take in determining weather or not you are ready to quit. Good luck and stay safe.

As the above poster said.. Find a support group, they probably have more effective techniques to help.

Good luck. I know alcohol is hard to kick. My mom can't seem to quit. Not that she's a terrible alcoholic but she drinks alcohol regularly. I've tried to convince her that for her health that it would be good to omit the alcohol from her drinks, but no luck there.
