Fox News reports fake murder story from ACORN video as fact

mediamatters.org

After Andrew Breitbart posted a video of an ACORN employee in San Bernardino, California, claiming that she had killed her ex-husband, Fox News' Glenn Beck, Karl Rove, Greta Van Susteren, and Sean Hannity promoted it without fact-checking it or indicating that they had contacted ACORN for a response to the claim. In fact, ACORN stated that the employee made up the story because she recognized that the actors in the video "were clearly playing with" her so she "matched their false scenario with her own false scenarios," and, indeed, the San Bernardino Police Department has said her claim i

Wow, you mean to say they are denying the fact that their employees are #bags and that they were on to the actors the whole time?

My opinion of "Teresa" is that she came across as a complete tart.

After the incident, both sides should have called the police on each other.

And neither side did (as far as I know).

I'll bet if they did more digging (leave her alone before she offs herself), they would find that she says outragous things all the time.

One thing is for sure, if ACORN pays it's front line people, they obviously don't pay them very well.

Both Fox and ACORN are crap organizations, full of liars, bigots, and hate panderers.

These two were made for each other.

I had totally dismissed that episode yesterday:

I'm watching Beck right now, but I really don't see what the big deal is here. OK, the lady didn't throw them out on their ear, I'll give you that. But the part about that lady allegedly killing her abusive mate....so what? Maybe she is lying. Or maybe it was completely justified. It has nothing to do with the corruption in ACORN, imo.

Admission of murder? Nothing to see here, move along please. FOX screwed up - they concentrated on a non-issue instead of the corruption in ACORN.

The woman said she had previously run an escort service, Heidi Fleiss was her hero, blah blah blah. So what? Who cares? Nothing but boring personal info, but nothing incriminating, whether she made it up or not.

1. So ACORN admits they hire liars? Amazing that our tax dollars were funding this!

2. At least FOX was reporting something they believed to be relevant. Unlike CNNMSNBCABCCBS completely PUNKING the American people by failing to report ACORN's misdeeds until they could no longer hide the giant pink elephant hiding in the open.

RIght, it's all BS, so says mediamatters, that explains why ACORN says it

will stop any "new intakes" — essentially closing its doors to new clients — until it completes an internal investigation prompted by the release of four hidden-camera videos that show workers advising a fake pimp and prostitute to lie to get loans for a brothel.

Source

Tresa Kaelka is a "Lead Field Organizer at Acorn" according to her LinkedIn listing. Even IF this was a "punked you" scenario, is it proper behaviour for a Lead Field Organizer?

If the realm purpose was to "shock" the amateur investigators, why not simply call the COPS when they talked about opening a child prostitution ring, staffed by illegal immigrants?
Oh and Hotair is now reporting that Tresa claims she was "in fear for her life which is why she continued to interact with the investigators, rather than call, or have someone else at the office call the police.

You're absolutely right!! The liberal media would never do anything like that.

I mean, Dan Rather was spot on with all that crap about Bush, right? When he got taken hook, line and sinker; and at the very end, he was still saying, "I don't care it's fake, I still believe it!" Good ol' Gunga Dan.

FOX News Completely PUNKED by fake ACORN Video. Who are you trying to kid here? I guess like Acorn, you think we are stupid enough to believe that line of ****!! There is nothing "fake" about the video. She lied about killing her husband. She lied about why she lied. Acorn is now lying about why she lied about lying to cover all their lying! Fox wasnt punked. The punks are the Acorn scumbags using my tax dollars to push their self serving agenda. I guess the other videos showing Acorn employees coaching illegal and deceptive acts knew what was up as well.

When this story broke, faux said it was the biggest story of their career! Er, ah....

CNN, FOX, are now not checking their facts?....but the conspiracy theorists are nut jobs? It’s kinda odd when a person goes to "above top secret" and gets more reliable news than msm. Hookers and 401k's! America, baby!

Good Gawd this is pure justice. All these news programs don't give a crap about TRUTH they only care about trashing the other side and they jump on ANYTHING that comes their way to feel vindicated in their irrational biases.

This could have easily happened to MSNBC and CNN as well. There are several other REPUTABLE news outlets that this would not have happened to.

I suggest you all stop watching these crap shows for this exact reason.

Other stories they have reported may have been based in fact but they are always so warped, torn, and twisted to fit an ideology and then the masses of ignorant, unthinking people just go out into the world and start spouting all the same crap as if it's their own opinion.

This is a fact indeed. I don't really wish to get into specifics but yeah, they're pretty frugal with the salaries.

Hello.....it's call covering your backside! ACON (not a typo) people have already been fired. Of course she was just playing around, who wants to lose their job....especially in California.

This is a PR game. ACORN is in hot water and their publicists are using media to show them to be 'victimized' - and (dare I say it) - 'racially persecuted.' DO you think the conservative meat puppets 'reporting' this story will be somehow embarrassed? Don't hold your breath.

News in our country is often a paid production, and the media are only too willing to oblige... their 'clientelle' (advertisers) pay for the spectacle - the more spectacular and sensational, the better.

The morons at Fox (and all the other entertainment companies that produce 'news shows') just gave us another example of the difference between journalism and 'news reporting'.

I'm not buying into these things where the timing is all too convenient and the players too well-known to rate the benefit of the doubt.

The sad fact is that the campaign for the much-needed cleansing of this organization appears led by the right. In my opinion is gives it amunition to become divisive and an overall bad stench when really the effort should not be along left-right lines at all.

What it means is that the controversy along partisan lines will prevent any real change from occurring because of the diversion from the real issues. What's new though, eh?
