Russia, China scuttled bid to slap more sanctions on Iran

haaretz.com

Russia and China have rejected a proposal by the United States, Britain, France and Germany to impose more sanctions on Iran should a dialogue over its nuclear program fail, a senior official in Jerusalem said.

The two nations refused to discuss the possibility of further pressuring the Islamic Republic, according to the official, during high-level six power talks held last week in Germany.

ElBaradi - the retiring head
of the UN IAEA nuclear watchdog
said that the evidence was 'compelling'
that Iran is developing nuclear weapons -
however that there is no 'direct' evidence.

That is like saying -
"While my daughter being pregnant may be 'compelling' -
I have no 'direct' evidence
that she has had sex with anyone."

And to be sure -
people did mis-accuse the Virgin Mary.

Another similar types of headline about Iran.

Headline:
Iran has not expanded Centrifuge Operations.

This false headline has been reported REPEATEDLY -
and what the news story actually said
was that Iran has not expanded centrifuge operations
at Natanz.

At the same time
those opposed to Israel bombing Iran -
had said that it would be useless -
because Iran has learned from Iraq being bombed
and has dispersed its operations.

Ahmadinejad himself has repeatedly stated
that Iran has greatly increased its number of centrifuges.

The great complaint of the IAEA
is the lack of Iran's openness
and that they are not allowed to look elsewhere.

So - based on that one fact -
that operations have not expanded at Natanz -
those opposed to bombing Iran
would have one conclude that Iran is not pushing ahead
with nuclear weapon development.

THAT is not likely the conclusion
among the Israeli war planners.
Among many in Israel
the feeling is that the US is not on Israels side.
In fact -
a poll published this morning
concluded that only 4% of Israelis
feel that Obama is on their side

Most Americans feel that it is not in the US interest
for Iran to be bombed.
That is certainly a prudent position
because doing so will probably bring on nuclear WW3 -
that will devastate the US - and the world.

So -
the US policy -
whether officially stated on not -
has probably become -
acceptance of Iran having the bomb -
and as this week's Newsweek says - "Learning to Love It".

The problem with Iran and North Korea
having the bomb -
and rockets that can launch satellites
is that they can then achieve
high altitude EMP explosions over the US
only four of which are thought necessary
to completely destroy the technological US.
There is NO missile shield that could stop them.

But - never mind that.
Israel's concerns are even greater.
Ahmadinejad has said that Iran -
(being a large country)
could take 15 nuke strikes from Israel -
but that two or three on Israel
would completely eliminate Israel.
Those odds don't seem good to Israel -
which is why it doesn't want Iran to have nukes.

American's would not feel comfortable
with those odds in the favor of their enemies -
but many still feel that for Israel it is okay -
or in fact -
many don't substantially care
whether Israel continues to exist or not.

The important question remains -
as to what Israel feels about all this -
and what Israel will do -
no matter the preferences of -
Russia
China
Iran
or the US.

As to those who say -
Israel is incapable of going it alone -
it may have no choice -
and this latest news from
Russia, China, the UN and the US -
may indicate that it may have to take action soon.

----------
The headline from Korea yesterday
was that:
Korea completes uranium cycle

So the world marches on -
in the East,
the West,
and the Middle East.

Israel won't attack Iran because it's buddies are now richer and more powerful than israel's.

If israel first striked Iran, China and Russia would step in and call it a "terrorist" action and give the Arabs a green light.

If they didn't already have nukes, they will be supplied.

All we are waiting for is the first strike...

Great find OP, more and more of these stories will come out with China telling the US what to do as it slowly takes power of the world.

Ahmadinejad never said anything about "nuking" Israel. The longer the lies go on, the more stuff that gets made up.. Maybe we should just leave Iran alone since we can't say anythting honest about them.
