The US Air Force (USAF) is hoping for Congressional approval later this decade to procure additional Lockheed Martin F/A-22 multirole stealth fighter aircraft, according to the service's senior acquisition official.

They keep asking, and congress gives them the same answer!

Congress has allocated money to it, congress will not increased that figure! The ONLY way for the USAF to get more F/A-22 is to reduce the unit costs, which onvloves either cutting things from the plane or selling it to other countries! No other country wants it, so they are left with the choice, more number but less capable or existing number and existing capability!
