Virus May Give Link to Life

I saw this on yahoo's news news.yahoo.com.../ap/20040512/ap_on_sc/virus _discovery
Basically they found virus that live and thrive in schorching hot acid at Yellowstone Park which may give clues to how life came to on Earth. I was thinking if these things can thrive in extreme conditions here then why couldnt a similar virus/micro-organism thrive on Venus. Why not?
