You do understand, don't you, that NASA's Space Shuttle is not the means by which we'd be getting there? Hopefully you just mean "shuttle" in a
more generic sense.
Furthermore, the atmospheric pressure on Mars would be much lower than it is here, so there'd be no danger of a person being "pulverized."
It's a moot point, though, 'cause humans couldn't survive direct exposure to the Martian environment, and nobody's planning to test that notion.
Any human presence on Mars, whether temporary or permanent, would have to occur within the confines of a totally enclosed, artificial environment,
whether that be in the form of buildings, vehicles, or some modified form or a space suit.
