No, this isn't an attempt to take over the Internet, unlike other proposed actions.

This is just the US wanting to secure it's own servers against intrusion.
Up here in Canada we have the RCMP Cybercrimes division... but the US lacks such a good organised system.

You see, at the moment, most hacking attempts are caught by either a user, or a simple network administrator. At which point they have to contact the authorities, who then contact the ISP to attain logs... it all takes so long to do this back and forth segmented dance of information exchange that the hackers are long gone and the logs erased on their way out the door.

What you guys need is a department that can be called upon at the first sign of an intrusion, and they can trace them before they have a chance to cover their tracks.

Rather than doing the job of an inspector, hoping the log files still exist.

I understand what you're implying and urging caution against Marge. In all honesty however, I do not see the government as one giant nefarious entity. My education and knowledge up to this point, including personal interaction, does not allow me to hold that view. Granted that there is always something to guard against, and I do. But my future desire for civil service and career path in government is not driven by self serving need. It is not driven by a malicious intent to enslave and destroy my fellow countrymen, quite the opposite actually.
So please, do not regard me as a summer patriot and fool. My heart rests with the principles of revolution, but I'm governed by reason, not emotion.

Actually I always believe that before a politician becomes corrupted they start with honest and good intentions, but our system of government is now too embedded with greed and corruption to keep any good personal intentions truth.

Because been good will never get you any where anymore, specially in government and politics.

I hope you change your mind and stick with the justice system at least in that path you will be able to do more good than been a politician.

Be very alert to their moves , and whatever happens , DO NOT let the bill to this pass.

Seriously , do not comply to this BS , they have much more important things to take care of for the country.

Oh yeah , I forgot , they have to take care of the internet because all of their scams are being shown here , so yeah , it would be much more important to them to keep full control of the flow of information. And that is the real reason.

Cyberterrorism my a**.

This a presidential directive and is a done deal, now with unlimited powers over the INTERNET they don't have to hide what they have been doing secretly until now.

I think, whats at the bottom of all this is the terminology they have adopted to use for these people in charge.

The term CZAR does not sit well at all with most of the freedom loving Americans.

It is adopted from the Communists, and if you look at the history of "CZARS" in the past, you will see the likes of Ivan III, Emperors and Rulers before 1917.

However, fastforward, Marge, and here's some of what you find:

Brown Bag Czar

Coke Czar

Colloquium Czar

Computer Science Rep. to COR (GPSA)

Czar Czar

Desk Czar

Espresso Czar

Frisbee Czar

Hockey Czar

Mentoring Czar

Milk Czar

Newspaper Czar

Orientation Czar

Photo Czar

Picnic Czar

Programming Contest Czar

Quotation Czar

Refrigerator Czar

Talk Website Czar

Theater Czar

Videotaping Czar

TGIF Czar

Foosball Czar

No, czar is not just for Emperors anymore.

So are we overreacting? Or is the fact that these current named Czars since the Bush administration are POLITICAL CZARS, and not to be taken as lightly as the others i listed??

Why not name them something else??? They easily COULD.

They do not because they are hell bent on sending the message to us that we are CONTROLLED by these very important new rulers. And the word CZAR does the trick.

AND lets not forget the reassurances from Obama that this in no way infringes on our rights.

Right.

Some of you might still buy it, thank goodness i do not.

Now we as Americans will have a national security internet site ban list.

There goes all the free porn sites.. Just like Australia. Look at their leaked internet ban list. It is mostly porn sites!

How are us married men supposed to get to see any action now?
Our imagination??
