US Postpones Military Shipments to Israel

www.worldtribune.com

TEL AVIV — Israel is gearing up the development and production of indigenous munitions so as not to be overly dependent on U.S. weapons.

"We have to end our exclusive dependency on the United States in the area of air bombs," an official said.

The official said the administration of President Barack Obama has delayed U.S. weapons shipments to Israel.

It's very interesting to see US-Israel relations to be changing. Not that I am against Israel receiving military aid, but Israel should not be an exception with regards international laws. They can be above the law and behave to others like no other possibly could. This is of course a consequence of their strong influence on the US through the Israeli lobby. Another reason is obviously the Holocaust. Germany is good example, they literally support Israel in anything to avoid insulting them and eventually be called Nazi's by the general public. I, for one, feel that this needs to be stopped. Every person who values human life, regardless of ethnicity, should feel the same.

The following quote, from an Israeli who helped building the country is very much relevant:

Remember the Roman Empire, the state of Judea behaved in ways which annoyed the Romans but didn't do them any harm. At the point that they were becoming a nuisance, the Romans turned against them, destroyed their temple, wiped them out and told them 'an empire has bigger concerns than you'. This is what Israel faces in the next 25 years.

The risk that the American empire will say wait a minute, you don't matter so much to us, either because we need oil more than we need you or because oil is no longer important - doesn't matter both has the same effect. You are more trouble than you are worth and the issue of the Holocaust and anti-Antisemitism is declining with demographic move to the next generation. This is a catastrophe for Israel, because Israel has no other friends in the world.

I don't think the US arms industry is going to like the fact that Israel is seeking to reduce its dependence on US supplies.

Israel is going to do what it has to do to survive in an increasingly hostile world.

If the US is no longer willing to stand by Israel then Israel will find support elsewhere.

Both China and Russia in the past came to Israel's defense during the Kosovo War when the Clinton administration started showing signs of potential hostility.

This could very well happen again.

We shouldn't be selling advanced arms to Israel anyway. There is enough evidence that at least one aircraft design was sold to China by Israel. What's going to happen when they have the F-35, or if they buy the F-15SE, with the RAM added to it? Will they sell them to China the first time the US withholds weapons from them?
