Syncrude dead duck toll now at 1606

Im surprised this hadnt been posted. On March 31st the President and CEO Tom Katina of Syncrude; that operates in the Alberta Tar sands. Changed the previously estimated number of dead water foul in their tailings ponds from 500 to 1606. He went on to apologize for the large lack of responsibility on his companies behaf, and explained what the company plans to do for future protection of the wildlife.
