Scientists have found that the pleasure women get from making love is directly linked to the size of their partner’s bank balance.

They found that the wealthier a man is, the more frequently his partner has orgasms.

“Women’s orgasm frequency increases with the income of their partner,” said Dr Thomas Pollet, the Newcastle University psychologist behind the research.

He believes the phenomenon is an “evolutionary adaptation” that is hard-wired into women, driving them to select men on the basis of their perceived quality.

The study is certain to prove controversial, suggesting that women are inherently programmed to be gold-diggers.

However, it fits into a wider body of research known as evolutionary psychology which suggests that both men and women are genetically predisposed to ruthlessly exploit each other to achieve the best chances of survival for their genes.

As far as the study goes, it all depends on area. I know some rich people who barely have sex and some poor who go at least 3 times a day. I suppose wealthy men have more free time, but that doesn't prove anything.

Some of those women ACT like they get more orgasms from wealthy men becuase they want more than just the orgasms...they see nice fancy things and a nice fat divorce settlement.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard and can tell anyone that it is flat out FALSE. And I would say quite the opposite in fact IMO.

He and Nettle tested that idea using data gathered in one of the world’s biggest lifestyle studies. The Chinese Health and Family Life Survey targeted 5,000 people across China for in-depth interviews about their personal lives, including questions about their sex lives, income and other factors. Among these were 1,534 women with male partners whose data was the basis for the study.

They found that 121 of these women always had orgasms during sex, while 408 more had them “often”. Another 762 “sometimes” orgasmed while 243 had them rarely or never. Such figures are similar to those for western countries.

What a stupid study. "Ah yes my rich lover, you give the best.....ah, thank you, more allowance, ah thank you, you are the best lover ever!"

I wonder if it has more to do with the lifestyle and all which that encompasses.

There were of course, several factors involved in such differences but, said Pollet, money was one of the main ones.

Or...maybe she could afford acting classes?

I'm broke as a joke and I can tell the difference between a fake orgasm and a real one, and I've never actually been with a girl that has faked a orgasm....

Bottom line, when the legs shake it's a sealed deal. More literally, when LOVE is a factor, I believe that increases the amount of orgasms a female can have. And I doubt a rich man with a centimetipeni could get a girl off, literally, with it not being fake.

There is the flaw in this study to begin with.
They make this conclusion from surveying only 5000 Chinese people?

Oh and then they refer to some "previous" data about western country's that we don't get to see.
The people who get paid to research this junk, and report on it, should be put to work doing something far more constructive.

It works both ways. I had a rich trust funder GF at one time and man did I make sure she got and stayed satisfied.

Hmm, don't really put much weight on this to be honest.

I'm not "blowing my own trumpet" (pardon the pun!) but I can please my partner several times when we make love, yet my bank account is nearly always empty! I do earn a good wedge, but bills and rent wipe it out fairly quickly, so I lend no credence to this.

It does worth noting the study was done in China, where cultural differences probably play a significant part. In that part of the world, woman seem far more concerned with their man's status than in the west, probably down to being denied equal status themselves.

It is also a fact that on average, Chinese/Asian men have the smallest members. This is borne out when you see complaints from that part of the world about condoms not fitting and Durex having to release special small sizes for those markets, as the generic "one size fits all" doesn't apply.

Maybe this lack of physical pleasure is made up for by the women being made happy by having sex with a more powerful man.

Anyway, what do I know? All I can say is that in my experience, how much money I happen to have has never impacted on my own performance.

Bolded, italicized and underlined for emphasis. Statistics is a very difficult field... I mean, you can choose not to "lend...credence..." to the conclusions of this study, but it's not going to affect the accuracy of it. I'm not saying this study in particular is very accurate, or even very well thought out at all, or that you even care, but I just wanted to point out that you have to be rather blind to suggest that a sample size of one unit has any variative implication on a substantially larger population. You probably know all this and I probably sound like I'm patronizing you, and I know you don't deserve it, but I just wanted to make a point for purposes of clarification for this discussion.

Anyway, more importantly, you are leaning toward the same direction that this thread itself is quickly approaching; your astute knowledge of human behavior (I'm guessing you're a pretty social guy) has correctly lead you to cast aside the conclusions of this study... It looks like the researchers forgot what it's like to have a relationship. You've got to realize these researchers' personal lives, as a sample group in themselves, is not very reflective of the greater population, and so they might have been unaware of the more elusive variables...

But wait a gosh darn minute here! If you read the article again it's clear the researchers themselves never provided a detailed conclusion. Their job is to collect and interpret data, not to search for societal truths or provide acute social commentaries. The article didn't fail, as a previous poster suggested; we all seemed pretty quick to jump the gun on those who conducted the study. I think the conclusion that this thread has unanimously come to: that in a relationship, the partner whose opposite generates the majority of the income does in fact fake more organsms, is exactly what the researchers involved in this study intended for us to discover the first place. They aren't necessarily a bunch of nerds that are entirely incognizant of the world around them. We have to give them a break sometimes. There really is a lot more number crunching than you think.

What they should have done (if the purpose of the study was to determine if those partners whose opposites generated the majority of the income were in fact faking their orgasms) was include the independent incomes of each individual in the marriage. But that wasn't the point of the study was it? Sure, it is kind of incomplete (it's obvious from this thread everyone expected a more far-reaching conclusion), not to mention boring, but the study itself is nothing out of the ordinary.

Just some thoughts from a humble researcher...

I could really understand the motivation of some of these women who are actually thinking of someone else they would chose for their partner with that money and what they will buy.

I don't know how many times I was thinking of someone else when I was with my (former) wife and her as well. I wonder if porn actresses are daydreaming about what they'll do with their money also.

I still refuse to believe the saying that all women are whores though. I'm sure many guys who play women who are gold diggers both get something out of the relationship if not just a laugh. This scenario has been done in some movies already and is always funny to me anyway. Anyone else also enjoy Two and a half Men? Is there something wrong with that?

Well I guess in the end, if you save your money instead of blowing it on those enlargement pills it will have a bigger effect on your performance
