Was an ATS thread just removed and classified as Top Secret by the US government?

I just read an ATS breaking alternative news story about a nuclear test in the Nevada desert this comming Wednesday with Russian observers in attendance.

It lasted on the ATS board for a couple of minutes max and disappeared. There are no news releases with this information on Google.

I saw that thread. I can't believe it was taken down. I thought this site was a place to find out the truth about things instead of hiding it.

NY TIMES

There ya go.

I'm not aware of any action on the part of the CIA/FBI/NSA whatever, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen, necessarily...

I was just informed that the date on the article was 1988.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Geez, its amazing how people jump to outrageous conclusions...

It was probably removed because it wasnt excatly new news, unless you count 1988 as recent

Sheesh

Mine was 1992 - this has happened a couple times in the past that I can remember.

Oh well...

Unless there is more to it.

The Berlin wall was still in place when that article was made, so... I guess it's a bit old

The New York Times Article was dated for today, January 16th, 2009, but it had a header that said Archives.

The original article shows a date of 1992.

Guys, it's all my fault and I apologize. I started the thread, and the date thing got me. Moving too fast, due to research on something else. That's why it came from the query archives.

Spank me, beat me and whip me. That's happened to me before at ATS, and just a reminder (slaps self) to always check dates carefully. But I do start a lot of threads, so it happens.

/feeling guilty.

It just shows you how gullible some of the people on here are. By no means do I mean that everyone here is gullible. There are just some people that will take something and try to run with it. Even though what they are posting may just be old news. Some people just do not take the time to see when an event actually happens.

It happens man, what you are doing is trying to dig stuff up and make it easier for the rest of us... don't ever feel guilty about that.

It's good to know there are people like you digging around for juicy stuff.

Just honest mistakes to me.

This is a conspiracy site after all.

Things happen...not a big deal...

Well, you can imagine my surprise. I laughed my ass off to be honest. And I notice Intrepid, who took care of this little mishap for me didn't say a word.

Milking it for all it was worth eh Intrepid? Or just didn't see this thread?

Oh well, it's over. Now, back to my seismographs and stuff...
