Arson attack damages Lyon mosque

www.france24.com

AFP - A mosque near the southeast city of Lyon was slightly damaged by fire early Saturday in an attack that the French interior ministry in Paris said was arson.

The fire broke out at the entrance to the mosque in the suburb of Saint Priest but did not spread and the only damage to the interior was caused by smoke, police said.

However, an AFP photographer saw a number of burned books from a bookcase which had been standing next to the door.

Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie had written to the president of the French council of Muslims, Mohammed Moussaoui, to convey her concern at the arson attack on the mosque, the ministry in Paris said.

I don't know if this was just an isolated incident or if it was connected to any other incidents in France or elsewhere. The french are well known for their fiery temper so this could just be a local problem and not neccesarily a wider one.

Although that said there has been a steady ratching up of anti Muslim propaganda in much of the media. No doubt to stir up yet more racial tension.

And non dare call this incident "terrorism" even though it fits the dictionary definition, we all know by now only Muslims can be terrorists.

Because Muslims would never fake a "hate crime".

The mosque rector, Kamal Kabtane, condemned "the rise in racism and Islamophobia" and called for a demonstration on Sunday outside the mosque when he visited the scene with the local mayor.

The story will go as follows:
* If it is discovered that a non-Islamic Frenchman/Frenchmen did it, this will be hyped beyond proportion by the Media Cartel, there will be protests about "racism", "Islamophobia", "FRANCE NEEDS TO BE MORE DIVERSE, DAMMIT!" while the accused Frenchman/Frenchmen will get prison sentences of at least a year's length.
* If it is discovered however that a Muslim/Muslims from the mosque did this, the police will either cite "not enough evidence to find suspects", or said Muslim/Muslims will claim that they did this to "draw attention to Islamaphobia/racism in France" and will get away with a slap on the wrist (i.e. "apology"). Expect the Media Cartel to drop this story like a hot potato (can't have "victims" faking "racist/Islamophobic hate crimes", because that'd show the "hate crime" industry for the crooked sham it is
).

That's the way the world goes.

yeap,
muslims have nothing better to do then cry wolf
so all those Miltary graves that were desecrated a couple weeks ago must have been muslim aswell?

the ones of the Muslim soldiers from ww2

if this topic had Muslim , we would have half ATS on here going on about how evil muslims are and our resident neo cons shouting Religion of peace at it again with their nice input.

It's just an amazing coincidence that "Suspects" are found, arrested and convicted in one case, and "No available suspects" in the other - right?

I'm not saying that it "was" a hoax - I was merely asking that the possibility be kept open:
It still amazes me that ATSers can believe that 9/11 was ordered by the U.S. government, yet "hate crimes" have some intangible barrier that prevents hoaxes from occurring.

Also, the fact that the mosque's rector wants a protest against "racism and Islamaphobia in France" immediately afterwards surprises no-one? As "not surprising" as how Nazi Germany's military responded surprisingly swiftly to a Polish "invasion"?

And if this was against a Christian church:
Well, it wouldn't make the news, would it? - or if it did, we'd have the other half of ATS screaming that whatever newspaper that reported it - from the "Facist Weekly" to "Comintern Daily" - was a tabloid rag suffused with yellow journalism!
", or attempting to whip up anti-Islamic behaviour and thoughts!
".
