Hoodoo

I've just become interested in the subject after stumbling across it whilst looking for information on Voodoo. As far as I can make out, whereas voodoo is a religion, hoodoo is folk magic but that's as much as I know becuase all info I've tried to gather has usually been a vehicle to sell novelties.
I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction or better yet, if someone practices it, tell me about their experiences. I would also be very interested to hear people's opinions on the particular subject.
