Suppose we had the ability to download our mind to a computer, and then upload it to another person or even just keep it running in cyber-land. When your mind was reactivated in either the new person or on the computer would you still be you? Would it be like you were sleeping then woke up?

Yeah, I think that's it's possible that we would still be who we are, as a bundle of experiences moved to a hard drive or another persons brain. I think that when our mind is moved, it is moving our 'residual mind', meaning just our experiences of who we think we are and what we've experienced.

When you are 'out of it', it is like one is sleeping then wakes up without knowing what happened.

Someday, it may actually be possible to download ones mind to computers and other peoples brains, by the way technology is progressing today.

More importantly, what would happen if you downloaded a copy of your mind and then uploaded the copy to another body. Would there be two of you now, or would it be one "real" you and one "simulacrum" ??

On a humorous side note, would it then be possible to kick your own !ass!?
