I just wanted to ask all of you to keep my father in your thoughts and prayers today.

Yesterday morning, he was taken to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain and was kept overnight. I spoke with my mother this morning, and the doctors feel that he has some sort of blockage in his colon. They aren't sure yet if it is a normal blockage, or a tumor, but he is being tested further as we speak. Although they didn't say for sure yet, my mother seems to think that he has developed a tumor in his colon.

I'm having a tough time wrapping my mind around it right now because I know what a serious issue a problem in the colon can be. So again, please just keep my father and my family in your thoughts today.

Thank you.

Well, they did several tests yesterday, but still really don't know anything.

They ran two cat scans, one by itself and one with the dye, and didn't find anything. The doctors still seem to be convinced there is something blocking his colon. They ordered a colonoscopy but for some reason said they couldn't do it until the 19th.

So it looks like for better or for worse, we may be waiting a week and a half to find anything more out. Although my father is debating going out of town to another hospital to get the proceedure done sooner, which I recommended he do.

They want to make him wait???
Oh Nyk, I agree..he should get it done sooner.
WTF?
A blockage is not something that you wait and see what happens.
Keep us posted.
