I guess this will be there first efforts in really making a aircraft carrier..also didn't state if they are going to be ballistic missile subs either.Hopefully these wont take 10 years..what planes would be aircraft carrier worthy anyways?

The borie class submarine looks pretty interesting. Like a revived Delta class sub. Has 16 tubes and a pump jet propulsion. Wonder how quiet it is? The sub has a large con tower like a oscar and a sizeable turtleback. Doesn't look very hydrodynamic, or as imposing as the typhoon, but the say it's got technology in it to compete with other navies through half of the upcoming century. They say it's a radically new design.

Personally I think the Ohio's are still better built and quieter, and they pack a bigger punch. But the Borie sub might also be used as a ssgn the same way we are converting some of the older ohios.

Im assuming that they mean a super carrier

In regards to aircraft, both the Mig-29 and the SU-27 have carrier variants.

Couldn't miss the flavor of your sarcasm there. Russia's financial house is in order. At the rate the US is going under, we will be selling them our carriers at a Large Discount.

They are around 300 Billion in the Black every year and we will be pushing a Trillion in the Red soon. That's right, they are a Creditor Nation and we are the worlds biggest Debtor. Russia has never lost its Nuclear Deterrent either, so belittling them is done at our peril.
