SAN FRANCISCO — In the latest expansion beyond its main mission of organizing the world's information, Internet search leader Google Inc. hopes to orchestrate more fantasizing on the Web.

Well you've got to give it to Google, they seem to be able to make a buck out of anything. This service is free but you can be sure they'll get increased traffic and on the Internet that translates to more advertising dollars.

It's called "Lively" and you can get lively Here

What do you think, should ATS build our own virtual world and meet up on this thing?

Sorry but Google is years behind on this. This was out and free in 2000.
And today there are multiple free 3d chats.

Google thinks Lively will encourage even more people to dive into alternate realities because it isn't tethered to one Web site like Second Life, and it doesn't cost anything to use.

After installing a small packet of software, a user can enter Lively from other Web sites, like social networking sites and blogs.

Okay, now. I get it. In essence, it's Second Life on steroids.

Honestly, I tried SL and just didn't care for it. I prefer real life better!
