United States Patent:

Nervous system manipulation by electromagnetic
fields from monitors

patft.uspto.gov...
has a "Query" bar in which "6,506,148" may be typed. That leads to a
description of a new technology patent, which allows manipulation of the
human central nervous system via broadcast television signals, DVD, and
computer terminal. Scrolling to "Summary" gives some details.

Okay, well, he's not quite the fruitcake I thought he was. As a matter of fact, he's done some NASA contract work -- back in 1965 -- and was journal published.

However, there's no current record of research from him or other supporting articles showing that he actually knows something about brain functions.

He did make a recent Scientific American column on "offbeat patents":

yes, it definitely does. People do research and invent things that just should not even be made.

Good find.

...This Patent was approved, and related patents date back to 1971... It seems more to illustrate what's possible and present, than to be a stretch of any kind.

By comparison, unapproved patents that are sitting collecting dust could benefit mankind and bring needed treatments out of private clinics for the elite into the mainstream. Ie., run a search on patent proposals for +"fibromuscular dysplasia" +Alzheimer's +Parkinson's +obesity ...Last time I looked, about 300 were sitting there.

Doesn't mean much except to say that "subliminals" can have a phsio-neurological effect as well as psychological. On a related note, the constant shifting imagery displayed on T.V. via commercials and "fast-paced action is this concept in action. The video feed being translated into an image is what provokes the EMG; the constant image change is the manipulation of this phenomona. Nothing new.
