Foreclosures up 57 percent in the past year

LOS ANGELES - The number of homes facing foreclosure jumped 57 percent in January compared to a year ago, with lenders increasingly forced to take possession of homes they couldn’t unload at auctions, a mortgage research firm said Monday.

Nationwide, some 233,001 homes received at least one notice from lenders last month related to overdue payments, compared with 148,425 a year earlier, according to Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac Inc. Nearly half of the total involved first-time default notices.

As you can see this the banks are snatching up huge numbers of property around the US. Some will be sold to investors and such, either way the middle class is forced out of their home.

It just so happens that Cape Coral is a couple hours from where I live, I can't believe they are #1 in the nation.

So the fine banks that control this country by takeing as many of the nickles and dimes from the hard working people who make this country go are increasing there profits by fifty seven percent or so. How lovely.
