South Carolina primary plagued by bad voting machines, snow

www.cnn.com

...Malfunctioning voting machines plagued Horry County, which contains the cities of Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, according to poll workers. "Human error" put the machines offline in 80 percent of the county's precincts during Saturday's voting, according to county spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier

By 4 p.m. ET, only about four of the county's 118 precincts were without a working machine, Bourcier said. But a top backer for GOP Sen. John McCain's campaign said he is seeking a court order to extend voting in the northeastern county by an hour.

Another state with problems associated with voting machines, this time human error blamed for not resetting the machines properly.

There were also reports that people were turned away from the polls so a request has been made to extend the county's closing time to allow these people a chance to vote.

it appears that McCain is gonna take SC as that was expected
due to his military background, hero status and all.
Huck comes in 2nd followed by Romney, then Thompson
and Paul with Guiliani coming in last.

but it's not over yet

Why not do it the old fashion way?

Ballot paper and put an X next to your candidate (that's what we do in Europe)

I would be all for that, it is unbelieveable the trouble associated with the electronic machines that were supposed to solve the fiasco of 2000.

I posted a Video in another thread by Dan Rather who investigates the touchscreen problems and also uncovers some interesting details tied to the actual punchcard ballots from Palm Beach Florida during the 2000 elections.

It is an hour long clip so you would have to plan some time to watch it.
