Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder has admitted not knowing people speak English in London.

The NFL player might want to check a map before he gets on board a plane for Sunday's prestige game against the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium.

He admitted he did not know until now where London was - or that Londoners spoke English

Yeah - well does this actually need any comment really - especially after that AUS TV programme (i quote a question to a new yorker - when were the 9/11 attacks , answer - august....)

If this is the standard of education i am some what a `tad` disappointed.

Do they speak English in London?

Everytime I've ventured down south I stuggle to understand what's being said to me.

Perhaps it's the context, but it always seems to come across as:

"Scouser are you? Better watch my hubcaps...ha ha ha"

No matter what I ask - it always seems the same response so perhaps he's right and they don't speak English...

Doesn't a linebacker's mind only consist of the following thought?

hit smaller person carrying the ball...cash huge paycheck.

The guy was obviously joking around, having a good time. Leave it to the media to jump on this. It would have been a great story if it was true. This guy had a 3.5 GPA in college. Smart enough to have fun with the media!

I don't know. Perhaps he was only playing about, but seriously, with the level of ignorance that exists in the world today, it wouldn't surprise me one little bit.

Sorry if that sounds a touch harsh, but I base this upon experience of people's stupidity.

I guy I did my teacher training with asked who wrote Ann Franks Diary in a seminar one day...He's a supposedly intelligent guy.
