www.netalert.gov.au...

This is an initiative put forth by the Australian government aiming at protecting children online.

While this is an amicable idea, the fact that there is a government approved filter that is free for download begs the question as to what would be censored, and what will be censored in the future.

I know that there probably isn't much to it - that's why it's here in Skunk Works - but it makes one wonder this could be used in the future as a supression of free speech, doesn't it?

Im sure if you go to the website, It will inform you..

Possibly a filter that uses some algorithm. Maybe you could do a bit more research before posting?

Tell me something that I dont know.. Sounds to me like a newer version of NetNanny..

Nothing new, just Government funded.. Remember it is election time

It was cracked half an hour after it was released. By a sixteen year old.

The government is trying anything, spending money hand over fist, on propaganda, prior to announcing the elections. That's just one of the many white elephants they're offering up.
