Hypersonic weapons have been the Holy Grail for a long time, and there have been successful tests over the years, but materials have finally caught up. There are a lot more systems in development, so the media got hold of it.

I wonder if they launched something on a rocket into LEO and than when it re entered the atmosphere it used some sort of jets to maneuver.

so in a way its not a lie

Is the aircraft we are talking about in this thread (SR-72/blackswift) the same as the « green lady » ? Or it is a different plateform ?

From what I’ve read on a couple of different thread, it seems it have been hinted that the GL is actually a fairly big platform

Things that go very fast and very high need FUEL.

you need a big aircraft to fit the fuel and the various systems to fly the aircraft.

look at the SR71, big aircraft. look at the XB70 big and fast. the concord big AND fast.

ETA: and all of these aircraft were built or drafted in the 60's and 70's so imagine what we are making 50 years later

Yes that’s for sure.
But my initial question (which i may not have the answer for obvious reasons) is to know if when we talk about the SR-72 like in this thread, are we talking about the same aircraft as the « green lady » ? Or it is another aircraft ?
It just seems to me that the timeframe seems coherent.

I always wondered if the Green Lady was related to the F121,Brightstar,Brilliant Buzzard or Copper Coast?

If forms follows function my suggestion would be looking at high speed aircraft ideas of the 70 and 80’s for something younger but just as fast as the green lady
