Wait, I swear I saw a dinosaur just the other day. No but honestly, so does this mean that the demise of the dinosaurs didn't have a widespread effect on other species? Well, than I suppose this lends credence to the fact that there are still possible ancestors of the mighty beasts still lurking. Congo maybe? Just an idea-

It didn't spur new species of mammals, but it did help with the populations. I'd assume without them, there were far less natural predators for the mammals, which lead to over population.
