WASHINGTON -- Hillary Clinton's camp Wednesday blasted off its most direct attack yet on 2008 Democratic rival Barack Obama, as he basked in the glow of Hollywood's star-studded, million dollar embrace.

Clinton's presidential campaign accused the Illinois senator of indulging in "slash and burn" politics he publicly decries, after comments made by movie mogul David Geffen, who co-hosted a lavish Obama fundraiser.

This is a show of desperation from the Clinton camp. Geffen was a former supporter of Clinton, but has changed his mind.

Hillary, in desperation, wants Obama to get involved in something he had nothing to do with. She's alarmed by his popularity, and is grasping at straws to smear him.

To Obama's credit, he didn't take the bait.
