As has been established, we can't verify how far away from the nebula it is.
It is possible to say though, that it is huge, and huge being an understatement
If this isnt a proto-system, then considering this is a nebula, could it be the remains of part of the core of a long dead star?

As for the poster who has trouble understanding a stellar nursery, perhaps they could enlighten us on exactly how stars are created. Perhaps the Cosmic Stork?

It seems to me the explanation on page 2 that a few ATS members were discussing is a reasonable one: that this is a proto-planetary disk (young star with a dust cloud around it that may eventually form into planets)
