Newcastle United: Given wants Europe

Newcastle keeper Shay Given has admitted it would be a disaster if The Magpies failed to secure a place in Europe next term.

The Magpies have had a torrid season, with new manager Graeme Souness failing to revive their fortunes following the axeing of Sir Bobby Robson last year.

Newcastle have continued to look shaky at the back, while their attacking vigour has been upset by an injury to Alan Shearer and the much-publicised spat between Souness and now Celtic striker Craig Bellamy.

They will be lucky to make Europe, they have had a pretty bad season so far..

yip. champions league should be there goal, but uefa cup will most likely be it now.

if they dont get in there, its really poor. is it the top 8 are guarenteed europe?

I can't see them making it to be honest, too many other clubs playing well...
