Woaaaaah! did i hear right during the Milan - Lyon game that Paolo Maldini is going to retire at the end of the season?

Jeeze! hes been on the go for ages, must be around 37/38 now but he still looks pretty fit and looks a decent enough defender. And hehe... Costacurta is still on the go too!

But is this correct about Maldini? another number retiring thing going on too, no1 will be wearing number 3 unless his son makes it as a left back

He's good but he will retire in the next 2 seasons. Same with Cafu. It's a shame that shearer retired coz he could still do it at premiership level

How long do you think until giggs retires at Man Utd or will he keep playing as long as possible with other clubs? I can't see him ever leaving Man Utd. He is Man Utd through and through

ahhh.. i had a look on wikipedia and they are saying Maldini is going to retire at the end of next season (2006/2007)

I aint sure abuot Cafu, hes still really fit and gets up and down that right hand side.

I remember years ago, it would be about 10 years ago and Giggs was just into the team, i went and got a Giggs soccer skills video lol. But i agree, i cant see him leaving for another club and hes still good

a few years ago i would have said Nedved, but i dont think hes as good as he was. Basically past his prime......

I would say the best is Ronaldinho, he is often out on the left for Barcelona i believe he can be used a winger, just a winger who doesnt track back

I think Stankovice at Inter is a good winger too, very versatile aswell.

true i think joe cole has been good this season but he is nit a proper winger

I think giggs is still better than Joe Cole and Ronaldinho isn't really a left winger so I'd say ryan giggs is the best left winger in the world.

He is too old and slow like zidane. They can't stay great forever. Ronaldo could become the best in the world in a few years time.

The best left winger is Darren huckerby by far.
