Skysports.com can confirm West Brom are interested in signing Chris Kirkland from Liverpool. Reports have suggested that West Brom are hoping to sign the former England Under-21 international on a season-long loan next season.

Kirkland, who endured an injury-ravaged season with Liverpool last term, is considering his options as he seeks to be playing regularly with the World Cup on the horizon. The 24-year-old's first team opportunities at Liverpool could be further limited next season with Spanish goalkeeper Jose Reina widely expected to arrive from Villarreal.

i think hes going to find it difficult to be number 1 at Liverpool. With Reina coming in hes going to become 3rd choice and they have Carson aswell..

Knowing Kirkland, he will prob be injured for most of the season and if its a loan deal, he might get match practise and fit again. And then he can go back to anfield next summer and be fit.

It would be nice if this happens

West Brom boss Bryan Robson has revealed to skysports.com he is interested in signing Chris Kirkland.

Skysports.com confirmed last week that West Brom and Liverpool had held talks over a possible loan switch for Kirkland.

Robson is keen to bring in a new goalkeeper at The Hawthorns as he looks to build on last season's brilliant escape from relegation and a new shot-stopper is believed to be among his top targets.
