Rugby, Australian Football: Stimpson joins Tykes

Leeds Tykes have signed former England full-back Tim Stimpson.

The 31-year-old, who has been training with the Zurich Premiership club for the past month, is the Tykes ninth signing of the close season.

Stimpson has joined the Yorkshire club from Perpignan but he is best remembered for his time at Leicester.

He scored 1,713 points in 151 first-team games for the Tigers.

"I have been really impressed with the set-up here and believe we can take the club forward," said Stimpson.

"All the ingredients are in place for Leeds to be successful and with my family living in Yorkshire, I really feel at home here."

Stimpson won four Premierships with Leicester and back-to-back Heineken Cups as well as the Premiership at Newcastle but he still has goals.
