I don't like homosexuals but I'm not scared of them they just repulse me.

I always thought of a phobia as a fear also, but I guess that's besides the point.

I have nothing wrong with homosexuals. I find most homosexuals friendly people. No, I don't really enjoy the sight of intimacy between two homosexuals, but really, they might not enjoy male/female intimacy. Although either way they'd have to get used to it.

About the normality issue. There's not really a set standard for what's "normal". I bet everyone of us has a fetish, deformity, whatever that isn't of the accepted norm. Well, at least I do.

Saphie, homosexuals do not have any rights as homosexuals. That act is wrong, is immoral and, until the extreme left anti-American, anti-cultural movement was allowed to make serious inroads, was simply taboo.

Humans have rights as humans. In America, the constitution and Bill of Rights protect the rights God gave us, and homosexuality is not a basic human right given by God or protected by anything in our documentation. That act is no more protected than any other sin.

We do have something called freedom of choice, though. But one must be prepared to face the consequences of whatever action one takes. Now, if a couple guys want to pile up into their love shack and defile one another, that effects me in no way, as long as they are of age. But don't try and pass it off as normal but different, don't expect me to go along with endowing them with special treatment, and do not expect me to look upon them as a minority. And whatever anyone does, they'd better not use their positions as educators to teach my children that acts that goes against God's word is A-OK.

Why isn't this thread over on BTS? It has nothing to do with conspiracy or paranormal events. It's even beyond political issues. It's not really a discussion either. People are not solving any of the problems gays are facing right now. Its just an arena where people are slamming or sticking up for gay rights. I have often wondered that as well, but this particular topic pops up here every couple of weeks, runs a bit and then falls to the wayside, only to be replaced by the same thing only different thread.
I figured its tradition by now.

TC: In my world there are no minorities just people. If God divides the gay from the straight on judgement day then so be it. But, until Jesus rides in here on a cloud I say everyone should be treated equally and have the same rights as you and me. They pay taxes and social security they should get a say on who gets their benefits when they die.

Instead, a whole segment of our population is deemed outcast and discriminated against because their behavior doesn't fall in line with christian doctrine. Then, we should say alcoholics and drug addicts can't get married. We should say thieves and killers can't get married. You can't just single out one sin and discriminate against those people that commit it. Our government willingly accepts their taxes without accepting their lifestyle. But, all of sudden when you're talking about marriage it means accepting their lifestyle.

I quite agree saphronia if they included options like being exempt from paying taxes etc into their tired old retoric I could understand it a bit better, as it is they seem to want to have the best of both worlds, marginalise the queers but let them go out to work and pay their tax contributions towards my kids daycare/schooling etc but by God will I bleat if so much as a penny of mine goes towards anything with gay in the title.

I don't quite understand this *the thought of it repulses me* line either. For myself when I meet people I don't have an automatic need to imagine what they do in bed with their husbands/wife/partner. If it repulses you don't think about it.

There actually are animal species(other than humans) that engage in homsexuality. So I guess those animals are going to hell too. What is natural and what isn't? How do you know? Because that's what you were taught? Because that is what the bible or god says? Give me a break. From what I gather, everyone that is opposed to homosexuality, states that it is not natural. That means that having sex for any other purpose than producing a child is not natural? Oral sex? Masturbation?
I think this subject doesn't have anything to do with being homophobic, but more about feeling secure with your own sexuality. If it scares you or "gives you the creeps" maybe there is another reason behind it. Maybe DEEP down inside you want to experiment. Get over it people and move on.
