all Americans can take pride in the example our democracy sets for the world by holding elections even in a time of war.

Why is he acting like this was a monumental achievment? Elections were held in every war in the 20th century.

Were there discussions in the white house of not having the mid term elections beacuse of the war?

Is the president now setting up an excuse for not having the 2008 presidential elections?

Hey, peanut gallery relax...his point is that in American we always have elections in times of war, many other nations do not. Simple.

Maybe so but you would think he would have been touting the same line after the 2004 presidential election.
