Although alleged to be part of "routine" maneuvers, the appearance of the Aircraft Carrier "Enterprise" and her support group, Carrier Strike
Group 12, comes at a time when the United States is supposedly pursuing a diplomatic resolution to the North Korean situation.

SEOUL, South Korea Jul 18, 2006 (AP)— The aircraft carrier USS Enterprise arrived in South Korea Tuesday for a routine port call, officials said,
amid heightened tensions in the region over North Korea's missile launches.

The vessel's visit "has been previously scheduled and it is not in response to any specific event," the statement said.

The carrier's deployment to the Asia-Pacific region is "part of a regular rotation of vessels in support of U.S. commitments to around the world," the
Navy said.

Heightened tensions as the result of rocket launches conducted by the North Koreans are not likely to be lessened by the presence of a United States
War Ship in the neighboring adjoined country.
Perhaps this is a preplanned move by the Bush Administration to "flex" some muscle at North Korea and attempt to bring them back into negotiations.
Semper its interesting, even more so now that North Korea has issued a wartime alert, sort of like us going to DefCon 1, I made a thread on here about
it earlier.
